Job description

Come work for an established company with over 100 years of experience in the industry! Prince Corporation has been providing Lawn and Garden products to retailers in the Midwest for generations. We are a midsized company with three locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana. We pride ourselves on providing flexibility and work-life balance for our employees. Summary/Objective This position is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding, employee relations, writing disciplinary actions, employee leave, benefits administration, etc. Must have knowledge of current employee law, both federal and the states in which we operate.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the day-to-day aspects of Human Resources
  • Partner with Managers to discuss staffing needs and conduct interviews
  • Conduct new hire orientation and administer benefits for new hires
  • Work with Benefits Broker to obtain quotes from insurance companies regarding current year benefits coverage and premiums
  • Prepare and track FMLA and Leave of Absence (LOA) paperwork, as well as STD/LTD paperwork, and ensure the leave falls within the guidelines of the law and policy
  • Update company policies and procedures, job descriptions, etc. as needed
  • Conduct investigations and partner on disciplinary action when required
  • Lead contact person on all worker's comp and non-worker's comp injuries and complete safety investigations as necessary
  • Updating job postings and advertising; send resumes/applications to hiring managers
  • Employee Recognition program contact
  • Employee Surveys
  • Update Org Chart as needed
  • Conduct Exit Interviews as needed

Additional Duties

  • Facilitate End of Year Review Process
  • EEO-1 Reporting
  • OSHA Form 300A Summary
  • Ensure files are kept current; destroy old files
  • United Way Contact Person
  • Plan and organize company events such as: holiday meals, summer meals, etc.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has two reports: Office Coordinator and Safety Coordinator/HR Rep.

Work Environment

Work is mainly indoors, but may be exposed to outdoor elements depending on situation. Extended periods of sitting at desk and working on a computer.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, salaried position.

Travel

Travel to other facilities as necessary.

Required Education and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • At least 2 years of Human Resources experience.
