Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and evolve our people function in West LA. This onsite role partners with leadership, combines strategic initiatives with hands-on HR operations, and supports rapid growth with a people-first culture.

You will manage full-cycle HR operations, policy development, recruitment, benefits, payroll coordination, and HRIS, while focusing on compliant, scalable processes and an inclusive, high-performance work environment.

Qualifications

• 7-8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience partnering directly with executives and people managers.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS systems, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted partner to leadership and managers on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
• Own full-cycle HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS management.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and compliance practices in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead recruitment efforts in partnership with hiring managers, including workforce planning, interview processes, and offer execution.
• Manage employee engagement initiatives, performance review cycles, and learning and development programs.
• Provide guidance on compensation, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations, ensuring consistency and fairness.
• Oversee benefits programs and act as the primary point of contact for employee questions.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
• Support company growth initiatives including headcount planning, manager training, and culture-building programs.
