Job summary

Transdev is seeking a Human Resources professional for an in-person role across multiple markets, with monthly travel to others. The position emphasizes policy interpretation, compliance, and employee relations in a fast-paced environment.

You will coach staff, manage hiring, payroll setup, and leaves while partnering with leadership to align HR programs with business goals. Travel, flexibility, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years HR experience including recruiting, selection and employee relations.
  • Understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Travel requirement of 10%–15% outside local area.
  • PHR or SPHR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with operations management on HR issues including hiring, compensation and development.
  • Interprets and explains HR policies and procedures.
  • Manages compliance risks and plans mitigations.
  • Oversees hiring process: screening, payroll setup and leaves.
  • Acts as liaison between unit and Division HR Director.
  • Coaches assigned employees and provides performance feedback.

Assists unit leadership in understanding and communication of HR policies and procedures, along with handling compliance issues

Pay Rate: $74,880 - $99,840

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consults with operations management on human resource issues related to hiring, compensation, training and development, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Interprets and assists with the understanding of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Manages compliance issues; identifies local compliance risks and proactively plans to mitigate risks.
  • Manages the hiring process including candidate screening, hiring, new employee set-up, payroll, and leaves of absence.
  • Serves as the liaison between the unit and the Division Human Resource Director.
  • Coaches and mentors assigned employees; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
  • Other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant human resource experience, including recruiting, selection, and employee relations required.
  • Understanding of employment laws and regulations.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • HRIS, ADP, and investigative experience preferred.
  • Travel requirement outside of the immediate area (10%-15%).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that convey complex ideas in a simplified manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress
  • Must be well organized, detailed oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Confident and skilled in using GSuite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)
  • Bias for action, excellent attention to detail and relentless commitment to follow-through
  • Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership, and delivering results
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances.
Location & Travel Requirement:

T

his is a fully in-person position. The successful candidate must reside in Los Angeles, San Diego, or Las Vegas and be able to travel to the other two markets at least once per month. Regular travel between markets is an essential function of this position, and the candidate must be able to reliably meet these requirements as a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
  • Work is primarily accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a computer and telephone
  • Must be able to work at different worksites depending on need.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screening
  • Transdev maintains a Drug Free Workplace and may require participation in a random drug screening program.
  • Transdev reserves the right to perform ongoing background checks for all employees except in states where this is prohibited by state law. Transdev will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.
