Job description

Role & Responsibilities


*Recruit, interview, hire, and train department staff.


*Oversee the daily workflow of the HR department.


*Handle employee discipline and terminations in accordance with company policy and contractual agreements.


*Recruit, interview, hire, and train department staff.


*Oversee the daily workflow of the HR department.


*Handle employee discipline and terminations in accordance with company policy and contractual agreements.


*Collaborate with the leadership team to execute the organization's HR and talent strategy, focusing on talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.


*Provide support and guidance on complex HR matters, including reasonable accommodations, investigations, and terminations.


*Manage talent acquisition, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring for various roles, in coordination with departmental managers.


*Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.


*Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies for ongoing compliance.


*Stay updated on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.


*Act as HR support to the plant manager, collaborating with the quality systems manager on safety practices and programs.


*Maintain the company-wide OSHA log.


*Coordinate and monitor workers' compensation claims to minimize employee lost time.


*Track and report random drug testing results.


Safety:


*Participate in developing, implementing, and enforcing the safety program.


*Promote employee safety in all operational areas.


Sanitation:


*Ensure plant personnel maintain cleanliness in the work area.


*Always enforce Good Manufacturing Practices.


*Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements & Physical Demands


*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


*Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.


*Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.


*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


*Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.


*Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.


*Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.


*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


*Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn, the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.


Education and Experience:


*Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.


*Minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.


*SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly desired.


Physical Requirements:


*Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


*Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.


*Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
