We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Manager to support our manufacturing operations. This role will lead day-to-day HR functions and work closely with leadership to maintain a safe, productive, and positive workplace. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, knowledgeable in employment law and compliance, and capable of building strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Core HR Duties
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law, HR trends, and best practices; communicate and implement changes as needed.
- Build strong employee relations by addressing grievances, concerns, and workplace issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.
- Ensure employees know they are valued and cared for through authentic and honest relationships.
- Support the engagement, development, and retention of staff across all departments.
- Track employee discipline related to tardiness, absences, and performance; issue points under the attendance policy when appropriate.
- Support payroll administration, benefit enrollments, and 401(k) coordination with vendors and employees.
- Provide guidance and tools for timely, constructive performance evaluations.
- Administer leave and accommodation processes including FMLA, short- and long-term disability, and workers' compensation.
- Coordinate the offboarding process and conduct exit interviews.
Manufacturing-Specific & Strategic Responsibilities
- Partner with safety and operations teams to maintain a compliant and safe working environment; ensure all employees receive appropriate safety training.
- Assist with external audits related to employment, compensation, and sustainability.
- Help with hourly and salaried recruitment efforts, working closely with supervisors to meet hiring needs and maintain staffing levels.
- Identify workforce training needs and coordinate effective training programs for compliance, skills development, and onboarding.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures in line with company goals and regulatory changes.
- Analyze HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and absenteeism to support data-driven decisions.
- Participate in strategic workforce planning and support succession efforts in collaboration with leadership.
- Serve as back-up to the Director of Talent during their absence.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on employee relations, performance management, and policy matters.
- Represent HR in cross-functional meetings, ensuring alignment between people strategy and business objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Certifications such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or other professional certifications, are highly preferred.
- Previous human resources leadership experience required.
