Job summary

Charter Communications is seeking a qualified Manager, Human Resources to drive HR strategy across recruitment, employee relations and compliance. You will partner with leadership to implement initiatives, oversee payroll and benefits, and ensure adherence to employment laws in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong leadership, consulting skills, and the ability to manage labor relations and HR operations. This position is based in a standard office setting with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
  • 5+ years HR Generalist experience in a multi-location environment.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement short and long-term HR strategies with leadership to meet objectives.
  • Provide consultative HR support to managers including performance management and development.
  • Ensure legal compliance with federal, state and local employment laws including FMLA and ADA Amendments Act.
  • Oversee employee relations, investigations and policy administration.
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding and retention with compliance to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action requirements.
  • Manage HR operations including payroll processing, benefits enrollment and HRIS maintenance.
  • Lead and develop direct reports, participate in labor relations, and manage the HR budget.

Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Drive human resources strategy across recruitment, employee relations and equal opportunity employment by partnering with leadership to implement initiatives that achieve organizational objectives. As a Manager, Human Resources at Spectrum, you'll combine HR mastery and industry knowledge to evaluate and resolve complex issues in a fast paced environment. Your work will directly support Spectrum's ability to meet business goals.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Partner with leadership to design and implement short and long term HR strategies that support organizational objectives and simplify the customer experience
  • Provide consultative HR support to managers and supervisors, including guidance on performance management, employee development and organizational change
  • Ensure legal compliance with all applicable federal state and local employment laws, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act
  • Oversee employee relations by conducting investigations, managing escalated issues including ethics reports, and ensuring company policies are administered fairly and consistently
  • Oversee recruiting, staffing, onboarding and retention strategies while ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity, Federal Communications Commission and affirmative action requirements
  • Manage HR operations including payroll and commission processing, benefits enrollment, unemployment and workers compensation claims, HRIS maintenance and HR communications
  • Lead and develop direct reports, participate in labor relations negotiations and enterprise taskforces, and manage departmental budget and expenses

What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, organizational behavior, related field or equivalent
Experience
  • 5+ years of Human Resource Generalist experience in a multi-location environment
Skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with all levels of company personnel
  • Ability to speak in a public forum
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead projects
  • Effective supervisory skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Demonstrated PC and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize and organize effectively
  • Knowledge of local state and federal employment laws and procedures
  • Knowledge of recruitment trends and technologies
  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws
  • Knowledge of staffing and employment practices
  • Knowledge of employee relations procedures and applicable law
Preferred Qualifications
Education
  • Master's degree
  • Certifications for human resource professionals (PHR, SPHR)
Experience
  • 2+ years of management or leadership experience
Licenses
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company standards
