Job summary

Spectrum is seeking a Manager, Human Resources to lead recruitment, employee relations, and equal opportunity programs across multiple locations. You will partner with leadership to design strategies and ensure policy compliance while supporting Spectrum’s business goals.

The role requires 5+ years in HR generalist roles, strong communication, supervisory skills, and the ability to navigate complex investigations and labor relations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, organizational behavior, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience in a multi-location environment.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, staffing, onboarding and retention strategies.
  • Provide consultative HR support to managers and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA and other laws.
  • Manage employee relations investigations and policy administration.
  • Oversee HR operations including payroll, benefits and HRIS maintenance.
  • Develop and coach direct reports; participate in labor relations if needed.

Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Drive human resources strategy across recruitment, employee relations and equal opportunity employment by partnering with leadership to implement initiatives that achieve organizational objectives. As a Manager, Human Resources at Spectrum, you'll combine HR mastery and industry knowledge to evaluate and resolve complex issues in a fast paced environment. Your work will directly support Spectrum's ability to meet business goals.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Partner with leadership to design and implement short and long term HR strategies that support organizational objectives and simplify the customer experience
  • Provide consultative HR support to managers and supervisors, including guidance on performance management, employee development and organizational change
  • Ensure legal compliance with all applicable federal state and local employment laws, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act
  • Oversee employee relations by conducting investigations, managing escalated issues including ethics reports, and ensuring company policies are administered fairly and consistently
  • Oversee recruiting, staffing, onboarding and retention strategies while ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity, Federal Communications Commission and affirmative action requirements
  • Manage HR operations including payroll and commission processing, benefits enrollment, unemployment and workers compensation claims, HRIS maintenance and HR communications
  • Lead and develop direct reports, participate in labor relations negotiations and enterprise taskforces, and manage departmental budget and expenses

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, organizational behavior, related field or equivalent
Experience
  • 5+ years of Human Resource Generalist experience in a multi-location environment
Skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with all levels of company personnel
  • Ability to speak in a public forum
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead projects
  • Effective supervisory skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Preferred Qualifications
Education
  • Master’s degree
  • Certifications for human resource professionals (PHR, SPHR)
Experience
  • 2+ years of management or leadership experience
Licenses
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record within company standards
