Job summary

Palmetto Corp. is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee recruitment, onboarding, benefits, performance, compliance, and training, aligning HR strategies with our business goals and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Primarily office-based with occasional travel to company locations; you will lead HR initiatives, manage records, ensure legal compliance, and partner with managers to support employee engagement and retention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and related HR tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to company locations as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

  • Manage onboarding and orientation programs to ensure successful integration of new employees.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Handle employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and development plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO).
  • Develop and coordinate employee training programs to support skills development and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, personnel files, and HRIS data.
  • Prepare HR-related reports for management review.
  • Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external agencies, benefit providers, and employment-related vendors.

Position Summary
