Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of the human resource function for an assigned group of employees. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, manages employee relations, talent acquisition, staff development, risk management, and collaborates strategically with leadership.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as a resource for employees and management regarding policies, benefits, and employment procedures.
  2. Partner with senior leadership to manage, review, and develop corporate-wide policies.
  3. Manage the talent acquisition process, including requisitions, candidate offers, recruiting, and supporting management in interviewing and selection.
  4. Oversee pre-employment processes, including screening, IT requests, and compliance with applicable hiring regulations.
  5. Participate in new employee orientation and onboarding, coordinating schedules and acting as a liaison during onboarding.
  6. Ensure compliance with employment laws and monitor regulatory changes to update practices accordingly.
  7. Address employee issues such as questions, complaints, performance concerns, investigations, and terminations.
  8. Maintain employee personnel files in accordance with regulations and company standards; update HRIS and IT systems promptly.
  9. Ensure employees complete their required training plans.
  10. Act as a strategic HR partner to leaders within the assigned group.
  11. Collaborate with HR team members to provide support as needed.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Certification from HRCI or SHRM preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of human resources experience required.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now platform preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective time management, especially in remote work settings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 and familiarity with office administration, project management, and employment regulations.
