Haley Ward, a 100% employee-owned professional consulting firm, seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our Bangor, Maine team. You will partner with the HR Director to oversee daily HR operations and advise managers, driving scalable HR processes across multiple locations.

The role requires deep knowledge of employment laws, strong leadership, and hands-on compliance, recruiting, benefits, HRIS, and reporting. Competitive salary and benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Extensive knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws.
• Strong HR compliance and regulatory reporting experience.
• Broad, hands-on experience with daily HR operations.
• Experience leading or mentoring HR team members.
• Strong judgment, communication, organization and problem solving.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
• HR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Working closely with the Human Resources Director, you will help oversee daily HR operations and serve as a trusted resource to managers, employees, and the HR team. Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the HR Director with the overall management of the Human Resources Department
• Overseeing the day-to-day HR operations to ensure efficient, consistent, and compliant delivery of HR services across all Haley Ward locations
• Managing HR compliance requirements and regulatory reporting
• Working with HR Director to develop and implement departmental procedures, workflows, and best practices to improve efficiency and scalability
• Monitoring employment law changes and helping maintain compliant HR policies and practices
• Supporting benefits administration, recruiting, HRIS, and HR reporting
• Supervising and mentoring members of the HR team
• Implementing HR initiatives associated with continued company growth and acquisitions

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
• Extensive knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and regulations
• Strong HR compliance and regulatory reporting experience
• Broad, hands‑on experience with daily HR operations
• Experience leading or mentoring HR team members
• Strong judgment, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
• HR certification preferred

The salary range for this position is $85,000–$110,000 and is part of Haley Ward’s comprehensive total rewards program, designed to support our employees personally, professionally, and financially while offering the unique benefits of working for a 100% employee-owned company
