Job summary

Gold Star Foods is seeking an HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations at our Dixon, CA facility. This on-site role reports to the HR Manager – West and drives teammate relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, and benefits administration.

The ideal candidate has a BS/BA in a relevant field, 5+ years of HR Generalist experience, and strong knowledge of HR policies and employment laws.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Business Administration or relevant field.
• 5+ years of proven experience as an HR Generalist.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies and employment/labor laws.
• Experience with payroll, HRIS, and talent management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations and serve as a point of contact for teammates and supervisors.
• Administer and support full-cycle recruitment (job postings, screening, interviews, offers, onboarding).
• Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth teammate experience.
• Provide guidance on company policies, procedures and HR best practices.
• Manage teammate relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Maintain and update teammate records, HRIS data, and personnel files.

Position Overview

The HR Generalist serves as a key partner to the Dixon facility, supporting day-to-day human resources operations and ensuring alignment with company policies, practices, and strategic objectives. Reporting to the HR Manager – West Region, this role provides comprehensive HR support including teammate relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, and benefits administration.

The HR Generalist acts as a resource for teammates and supervisors, promoting a positive work environment, ensuring consistent application of policies, and supporting workforce planning and development initiatives. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while driving HR programs that enhance teammate engagement and operational effectiveness.

Salary range: $70,000–$80,000On-site positionBilingual in Spanish strongly preferred

Principle Responsibilities

Required Skills

• Administer teammate benefits programs and assist with open enrollment
• Support payroll processes by ensuring accurate and timely data submission
• Monitor attendance, leaves of absence, and accommodation (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
• Analyze HR metrics and provide reporting to support decision‑making
• Partner with leadership to support workforce planning and organizational changes
• Promote teammate engagement initiatives and a positive workplace culture
• Assist with audits, compliance reporting and documentation
• Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures.
• Strong working knowledge of employment/labor laws.
• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations payroll, HRIS and talent management system (ADPWFN).

Working Conditions And Physical Demands

This position will be in an office setting at a desk equipped with computer, monitors, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours. Position requires the occasional lifting of objects up to 25lbs.
