Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is one of the largest human services providers in California, operating various programs to serve the poor and find permanent solutions to crisis situations by providing clients with tools and resources for greater self-reliance and stability.

St. Margaret’s Center, a community center of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles located in Inglewood, offers services for low-income and unhoused populations, including food programs, homelessness services, education, health and wellness, and social support. Annually, about 10,000 participants receive approximately 50,000 services.

The CRC III role involves informing low-income households about CalFresh, including eligibility, application processes, and benefits. Responsibilities include processing applications and assisting with related paperwork and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  1. Process about 40 CalFresh applications monthly.
  2. Educate community members and clients about CalFresh benefits and eligibility.
  3. Assist recipients with application troubleshooting, reports, and recertification paperwork.
  4. Follow up with the Department of Public Social Services on pending applications.
  5. Collaborate with the Community Services Manager to create marketing materials to promote program enrollment.
  6. Connect applicants with other programs at St. Margaret’s Center that could benefit them.
  7. Track and report outcomes to assess program effectiveness.
  8. Participate in outreach events and community meetings as needed.
  9. Promote quality improvement aligned with the agency’s mission.
  10. Show sensitivity to clients' cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  11. Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience with the CalFresh program.
