Position: Human Resources/Payroll Generalist
The Human Resources/ Payroll Generalist will help to lead and direct the routine functions of the human resources (HR) department including onboarding benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, identify issues before they become problems, and follow through without needing constant direction. Experience with Paycom HRIS is strongly preferred.

Essential Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Human Resources department.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in Paycom.
- Process employee status changes, job changes, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Assist with employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and other HR matters.
- Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and documentation.
- Assist with audits and ensure employee records and required documentation remain current.
- Maintain organized electronic personnel files and HR documentation.
- Support HR projects and process improvements as needed.
Payroll Support & Reconciliation
- Assist with biweekly payroll processing and payroll-related activities.
- Review and reconcile payroll information prior to submission.
- Audit timecards, PTO, deductions, earnings, and employee changes for accuracy.
- Identify and research payroll discrepancies and assist with corrections.
- Ensure payroll-related employee changes are accurately reflected in Paycom.
- Assist with payroll reports and reconciliation.
- Work closely with managers and timecard approvers to resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.
Onboarding
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires from offer acceptance through first day.
- Ensure required employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Enter and maintain new-hire information in Paycom.
- Coordinate background checks, screenings, required documentation, and onboarding requirements.
- Communicate with new hires and hiring managers throughout the onboarding process.
- Ensure new employees are properly set up for payroll, timekeeping, and HR systems.
Offboarding
- Coordinate employee separations and offboarding activities.
- Process terminations in Paycom accurately and timely.
- Coordinate final payroll information and required documentation.
- Ensure company property, system access, and other offboarding requirements are addressed.
- Maintain appropriate separation documentation and personnel records.
Recruiting Support
- Assist with job postings and candidate tracking.
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruiting and hiring process.
- Assist with scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
- Help move candidates through the pre-employment and onboarding process.
Qualifications
2+ years of HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, Payroll, or similar experience.
Hands-on Paycom experience strongly preferred.
Experience with onboarding and offboarding employees.
Experience with payroll processing, payroll audits, and reconciliation.
Working knowledge of HR administration and employee lifecycle processes.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential employee information appropriately.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Schedule
This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, based on business needs. The successful candidate must be available to support payroll deadlines, employee onboarding, and other time-sensitive HR responsibilities.
Compensation
Starting salary: $65,000 per year, with potential for higher compensation based on experience and qualifications.

- Provides support and guidance to other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Training new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
