We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Generalist to serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR, payroll, and benefits matters. This role owns end-to-end payroll processing in Paylocity and supports the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through employee relations and benefits administration. The ideal candidate is a trusted resource for employees and managers alike, comfortable balancing day-to-day HR operations with contributions to broader HR strategy and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll in Paylocity accurately and on time, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and garnishments.
- Audit payroll data, reconcile discrepancies, and resolve employee pay questions promptly.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
Employee Support and HR Administration
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, policies, and general HR matters.
- Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files in the HRIS.
- Prepare HR reports and data as requested by leadership.
Employee Relations
- Address employee concerns and provide guidance to both employees and managers on workplace issues, policies, and best practices.
- Support investigations, documentation, and resolution of employee relations matters in a fair, consistent, and confidential manner.
Onboarding and Orientation
- Manage the onboarding process from offer acceptance through the first days of employment, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
- Lead new hire orientation, introducing employees to company policies, benefits, systems, and culture.
Benefits Administration
- Coordinate benefits administration, including open enrollment, new hire and life event enrollments, and carrier/vendor communications.
- Assist employees with benefits questions and claims resolution.
- Develop and deliver clear communications about benefits offerings and changes.
HRIS and Process Improvement
- Support HRIS administration and system projects in partnership with internal stakeholders, including data management, reporting, and process optimization.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve operational efficiency.
Training and Development
- Develop and deliver training on HR topics such as new systems, benefits programs, and performance management.
- Support managers in performance management processes and cycles.
Strategic Partnership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address organizational needs.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions and contribute to HR initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience, including hands-on payroll processing.
- Experience with Paylocity or a comparable payroll/HRIS platform.
- Working knowledge of employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and state-specific regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
