Job summary

Boaters World Manufacturing is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to serve as the primary HR and safety partner for our hourly workforce, front-line supervisors, and plant leadership in Chocowinity, NC. This hands-on role blends HR duties with EHS support to foster a safety-first culture on the production floor.

You will lead recruiting, onboarding, investigations, coaching, and documentation while ensuring OSHA requirements and workers' compensation processes are properly managed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
• Active SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
• 5+ years HR experience in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on EHS experience and working knowledge of OSHA requirements
• Experience with OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and safety training

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to HR resource for employees and supervisors across all shifts
• Conduct thorough, objective workplace investigations and document findings clearly
• Coach supervisors on performance management, attendance, corrective action, and documentation
• Support OSHA compliance, including 300/300A/301 recordkeeping, inspections, and safety documentation
• Take part in incident investigations, identify contributing factors, and drive corrective actions to completion
• Lead safety training, new-hire safety orientation, and ongoing EHS initiatives
• Manage injury reporting, workers' compensation claims, and return-to-work programs
• Own recruiting and onboarding for production and support roles
• Handle HRIS transactions, benefits support, FMLA/ADA leave administration, and personnel records
• Ensure compliance with federal and North Carolina employment laws

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who does their best work on the production floor. You'll be the primary HR and safety partner for our hourly workforce, front-line supervisors, and plant leadership. You'll combine core HR responsibilities with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) support. What You'll Do

• Serve as the go-to HR resource for employees and supervisors across all shifts
• Conduct thorough, objective workplace investigations and document findings clearly

What You Bring

• 5+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in an HR Generalist or equivalent role
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field, OR an active SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
• Hands-on EHS experience in manufacturing and working knowledge of OSHA requirements
• Experience with OSHA recordkeeping, incident investigations, and safety training
• Workers' compensation and return-to-work experience
• Strong employee relations skills: investigations, coaching, corrective action, and conflict resolution
• A proven ability to connect with hourly employees and front-line supervisors
• Excellent judgment, documentation, and communication skills
• Discretion in handling confidential information
• Comfort maintaining a visible presence on the manufacturing floor
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll systems

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
