Job summary

Therapeutic Health Services in Seattle seeks an HR Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support across locations, covering onboarding, benefits, employee relations, recruitment, and HR operations. You will partner with managers and employees to address workplace needs, ensure policy consistency, and uphold CARF standards.

Responsibilities include benefits administration, compensation analysis, recruitment, compliance, onboarding, HRIS maintenance, and employee records management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Benefits administration including enrollments and open enrollment.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and compensation analyses.
  • Manage recruitment activities from sourcing to interviewing.
  • Administer FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations and leave processes.
  • Provide HR guidance on employee relations and performance.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires and orientation sessions.
  • Maintain HRIS and employee records (digital and physical).
  • Conduct background checks and employment verifications.
  • Verify credentials and licenses; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with laws and CARF standards.
  • Support investigations and maintain HR documentation.
  • Contribute to HR policy development and procedures.
  • Support HR-related trainings and leadership development.
  • Compile HR metrics and reporting for decisions.
  • Foster positive relationships with staff and leaders.
  • Support HR projects and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PM

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to Senior HR Manager

Pay: $33.09-$39.32

Detailed Summary:

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist provides comprehensive day-to-day HR support to assigned locations, serving as a primary HR resource for employees and leaders within those areas. The HR Generalist supports onboarding, benefits, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, employee records, and other HR operations while partnering with managers and employees to address workplace needs, maintain a positive workplace culture, and ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Benefits Administration:

Serve as the primary contact for benefits administration, including enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, open enrollment, and employee benefits questions.

2. Compensation:

Conduct salary benchmarking, market pricing, and compensation analyses to support competitive and equitable pay practices.

3. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:

Manage recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating the hiring process with managers.

4. Disability, Leave & Accommodation Management:

Administer FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations, intermittent leave, and other protected leaves while facilitating the interactive process and ensuring compliance.

5. Employee Relations & HR Support:

Provide HR guidance to employees and leaders on employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, policies, and employment practices.

6. Onboarding & Employee Integration:

Prepare new hire materials and coordinate onboarding processes, including orientation sessions.

7. HRIS & Employee Records:

Maintain and update the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and employee files, including digital and physical records.

8. Employment Screening & Verification:

Conduct background checks and employment verifications.

9. Credentialing & Licensure:

Verify and track employee credentials, including professional licenses and certifications.

10. HR Compliance & Regulatory Standards:

Ensure HR practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and CARF accreditation standards.

11. Investigations & Documentation:

Support internal investigations and assist with related documentation.

12. Policies & Procedures:

Contribute to the development, review, and revision of HR policies and procedures.

13. Training & Leadership Development:

Facilitate or support HR-related trainings and leadership development initiatives as needed.

14. HR Metrics & Reporting:

Compile HR metrics and data to support analysis, reporting, and organizational decision- making.

15. Employee Engagement & Workplace Relationships:

Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.

16. HR Projects & Process Improvement:

Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of HR operations.

17. Other Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

2. At least 2 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar role.

3. Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

4. Good communication skills – both written and verbal.

5. Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

6. Able to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

7. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
