Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking an HR professional to oversee all employment duties, from advertising and recruiting to interviewing, testing and onboarding, while ensuring hiring goals are met. The role requires administering benefits, managing payroll, and serving as a primary contact for managers, employees and legal counsel, with strong organizational and communication skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of employment including advertising, recruiting, interviewing, testing, placement of personnel, orientation programs, exit interviews, and unemployment compensation hearings
• Administer all employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, STD, LTD, FMLA and vacation
• Serve as primary source of contact to managers, employees, and legal counsel on all human resource related matters
• Maintain and administer all HR reports and records as required by state and federal laws
• Maintain and update personnel files
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and candidate information
• Compute, post, and maintain reports related to employee leave and absentees
• Process biweekly payroll
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Organize and communicate employee programs
• Maintain manning chart
• Additional duties as assigned by management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENC E

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, regulatory laws and manuals, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Computer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel)
• Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations
• Preferred Candidates with experience with ADP
