Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Experience in recruiting, HRIS administration, payroll support, and benefits administration.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles, from requisition intake through offer.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates, and coordinate interview logistics with hiring managers.
  • Manage relationships with staffing agencies and external recruiting partners.
  • Oversee pre-employment screening, offer letters, and new hire onboarding.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill and offer acceptance rates.
  • Prepare documentation for internal, customer, and regulatory audits (IATF 16949).
  • Maintain accurate, compliant personnel records and conduct self-audits of I-9 files, postings, and HR process docs.
  • Administer the annual performance management cycle; support succession planning and development plans.
  • Maintain data accuracy in the HRIS for hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and changes.
  • Generate standard and ad hoc reports on headcount, turnover, and demographics.
  • Perform routine data audits and participate in system testing and upgrades.
  • Assist with payroll validation, overtime, and exemption classifications.
  • Coordinate open enrollment and benefits administration; liaison with carriers.

Job description

The Human Resources Generalist - U.S. provides comprehensive support across the HR function, with primary emphasis on recruitment, compliance auditing, talent management, HRIS administration, payroll, and benefits. This position serves as a trusted resource to both employees and leadership, ensuring HR programs are delivered accurately, consistently, and in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruiting and Talent Acquisition
  • Execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles, from requisition intake through offer
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates, and coordinate interview logistics with hiring managers
  • Manage relationships with staffing agencies and external recruiting partners
  • Oversee pre-employment screening, offer letters, and new hire onboarding
  • Track and report recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill and offer acceptance rates
Audits and Compliance
  • Prepare documentation and evidence for internal, customer, and regulatory audits, including IATF 16949
  • Maintain accurate, compliant personnel records in accordance with retention requirements
  • Conduct self‑audits of I‑9 files, required postings, and HR process documentation
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Support corrective action responses and process improvements identified through audit findings
Talent Management
  • Administer the annual performance management cycle, including goal setting and review completion
  • Support succession planning, talent reviews, and individual development plans
  • Coordinate training delivery and maintain accurate training records
  • Assist with employee engagement, retention analysis, and turnover reporting
HRIS Administration Support
  • Maintain data accuracy in the HRIS for hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and organizational changes
  • Generate standard and ad hoc reports on headcount, turnover, and workforce demographics
  • Perform routine data audits to identify and correct discrepancies
  • Participate in system testing, upgrades, and documentation of HRIS processes
  • Handle invoicing from vendors
Payroll Support
  • Partner on payroll to validate timekeeping data and ensure accurate, timely processing
  • Review overtime, shift differentials, and other pay elements for accuracy
  • Assist and resolve employee payroll inquiries and discrepancies
  • Verify proper exempt and non‑exempt classification of positions
Benefits Administration Support
  • Partner on medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k) programs
  • Coordinate open enrollment, including communications, system setup, and employee support
  • Assist in qualifying life events, leaves of absence, and COBRA notifications
  • Serve as liaison to carriers and brokers to resolve escalated employee issues
Employee Relations and General Support
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policy, pay, and benefits
  • Support investigations, disciplinary documentation, and separation processing
  • Assist with policy interpretation and consistent application across the workforce
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Three to five years of progressive HR generalist experience
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, HRIS administration, payroll support, and benefits administration
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
Preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 or comparable quality management systems
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or a similar HRIS platform
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build credibility at all levels of the organization
  • Customer‑service orientation and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
TRAVEL REQUIRED (%)

>25% travel to meet customers and suppliers with day travel to the various manufacturing facilities as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Ability to use and understand Windows Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint, Microsoft (email). This is additional to the computer skill requirements as stated in the requirement qualifications.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Able to read and understand engineering prints/drawings. Good level of analytical skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to work on a team. Ability to guide the efforts of support personnel. Good teambuilding skills.
