Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to meet the needs of departments within the business unit.
  • Support internal and external recruitment efforts for the property.
  • Manage open job requisitions for non‑exempt roles.
  • Pre‑screen potential candidates and build a talent pool for all positions.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for open roles.
  • Assist in conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations in cases of grievances, harassment, employee concerns, or EEOC issues.
  • Provide day‑to‑day performance management guidance to property leadership (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with property management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Conduct exit interviews, record feedback, and report patterns to management.
  • Assist in handling unemployment compensation claims.
  • Facilitate identified training programs for the property, including but not limited to New Hire Orientation, Customer Service, Responsible Gaming/Alcohol Awareness and supervisory/management development training.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining internal communications sources such as video presentations, newsletters, print, social networking outlets, Employment Self Service website, and email.
  • Conduct frequent assessments on the success of these initiatives and make recommendations to support increased readership and effectiveness of these communication sources.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation consistent with core and local policies, state and federal statutes and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
  • Attend training and meetings, as required.
  • Collect, analyze, and look for trends in human resources data to make suggestions relating to HR strategy – turnover, recruitment, engagement, and leadership opportunities.
  • Assist with design and execution of engagement, wellness and retention events.
  • Enthusiastically support, actively promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and report potential issues to management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR or other relevant degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two to four years of HR experience preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office.
  • Ability to work with various levels of the organization to develop and influence culture.
  • Highly effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and collaborative skills.
  • Exceptional customer service focus and attention to producing quality results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state, local and federal labor laws and regulations related to HR.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills

Ability to read, interpret, and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and perform basic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and other standard measurements.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems with several concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; frequently reach with hands and arms; and perform tasks that require talking or hearing. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May need to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

Work Environment

The work environment is usually very loud. The employee will be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted second hand tobacco smoke.
