Job summary

Horizon Bank is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to serve as a trusted partner to employees and leadership. The role focuses on employee relations, engagement, talent acquisition, onboarding, and performance management, upholding our values and delivering outstanding service to staff and managers.

Working closely with leaders, the Generalist will address sensitive issues with tact and discretion, interpret policies, support investigations, and help foster a positive, compliant workplace

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
• 5-7 years of HR or Employee/Labor Relations experience required.
• 3 years’ experience with employee investigations from inception to completion.
• SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures consistently.
• Advanced knowledge of agency guidelines and industry standards as they relate to federal, multi-state and local employment laws.
• Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Exceptional organization, time management and follow-up skills.

The Human Resources Generalist is a trusted partner to employees and leaders, bringing comprehensive HR expertise and a proactive and consultative hands-on approach to employee relations, engagement, talent acquisition, onboarding, and performance management. This role drives a people-first culture, delivers exceptional service, and helps shape an environment where both employees and the organization can succeed in alignment with our foundational values.

The Human Resources Generalist works closely with leadership to proactively address critical employee relations issues that are highly sensitive and require building trust and collaboration, which are key to fostering a positive workplace. This role serves as a point of contact for employees and partner with managers and Advisors regarding employee relations issues and corrective action.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• 5-7 years of Human Resources or Employee/Labor Relations experience required
