Job summary

Roehl Transport in the United States is seeking an HR Generalist to support leaders, drive employee relations, and manage HR projects across 2,200 drivers and 625 driver support roles. You will partner with management to enable strategic HR initiatives and ensure fair, compliant processes.

You will collaborate on performance plans, unemployment hearings, FMLA leave administration, recruiting support, and investigations while upholding employment laws across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, diversity, performance management, talent management, learning & development, and federal and state employment laws.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred or able to obtain certification.
• Ability to communicate with a diverse population and build trust.

Our HR team supports over 2,200 drivers and over 625 driver support roles across multiple states. As HR Generalist, you work directly with key stakeholders throughout the business to support their needs related to Employee Relations and take a proactive, consultative approach to help them achieve their departmental goals and objectives.

You work with leaders and team members from across the company to develop performance improvement plans, support the developmental needs of team members at all levels, assist with unemployment hearings, as well as FMLA and leave of absence administration, and assist in various employee relations functions such as recruiting assistance and investigation and management of employee complaints. Primary And Required Skills

• Prior experience as an HR Generalist (or similar) role.
• Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of employee relations procedures and policies
• Knowledge of multi-state and national laws and regulations related to employment
• Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with little supervision required
• Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a busy environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness

We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 2 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues and has a working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee relations, diversity, performance management, talent management, learning & development, and federal and state respective employment laws. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential is preferred or ability to obtain certification.
