Job summary

DDRC is seeking a qualified HR Generalist to enhance the employee experience across the lifecycle. You will support recruitment, onboarding, recognition, engagement, retention, payroll, and employee relations while acting as a trusted advisor to managers and staff.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, compliance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a hybrid Central HQ setting, with occasional events and career fairs to promote our mission and values.

Qualifications

The position serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, helping to create a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, connected to the organization's mission, and empowered to contribute their best work.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Pre-Employment & OnboardingRepresents DDRC at community events, career fairs, and outreach activities to support employer branding and recruitment efforts.Helps coordinate recruiting activities, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and candidate communications.Conducts new hire onboarding and orientation programs.Employee Experience & RecognitionLeads DDRC's employee recognition program, including committee coordination, strategic planning, and the implementation of recognition initiatives that promote employee engagement and reinforce DDRC's values.Helps design, administer, and analyze employee feedback mechanisms, including pulse surveys, new hire surveys, stay interviews, and engagement surveys, to identify trends and recommend strategies that enhance employee experience, retention, and organizational effectiveness.HR OperationsProvides project support for HRIS, payroll, and benefit system implementations, process improvements, and data integrity initiatives.Maintains employee files and HR records in accordance with legal requirements.Assists with compliance reporting and audits.Supports development of SOPs, training materials, and user guides.Being an Equal Opportunity Employer, DDRC is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Helps coordinate organization-wide training initiatives, including but not limited to CPR/First Aid, Person-Centered Supports, and other required trainings.Partners with operational leaders to identify training needs and support workforce development initiatives.Assists with scheduling, communications, enrollment tracking, and completion reporting for employee training programs.Ensures the consistent, equitable, and compliant application of organizational policies, procedures, and employment practices.Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:RequiredBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible Human Resources/Administrative experience.Experience supporting multiple HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and/or compliance.Experience processing employee status changes and maintaining HR records within an HRIS.Experience handling confidential employee information and sensitive workplace matters.Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.PreferredProfessional Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent).Coursework or training in employment law, payroll, benefits, or HR systems.Experience in a nonprofit, human services, healthcare, IDD, or mission-drivenExperience with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, benefits administration, or applicant tracking systems.Experience participating in HRIS, payroll, benefits, or timekeeping system implementations, conversions, or upgrades.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is primarily performed in at the Central office or hybrid (up to two (2) days) environment, with some travel and set up for career fairs.The role involves regular exposure to sensitive, confidential, and emotionally complex situations, requiring professionalism, empathy, discretion, and sound judgment.DDRC operates in a highly regulated environment, and the employee must be comfortable working with compliance requirements, documentation standards, and deadlines.Collaboration across departments and adaptability to changing priorities are essential.Occasional flexibility in scheduling may be required to support organizational needs, employee relations matters, or training activities.This job description is not exhaustive and may be revised, with or without notice, based on funding, program needs, or organizational requirements.
