Job summary

DriveSafe Driving Schools is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support recruitment, onboarding, payroll, records, and HR programs across our Colorado network.

Based at our Greenwood Village headquarters with occasional travel to 13 DriveSafe locations, you will partner with leadership to drive policies, reporting, benefits, and employee relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business admin or related field; SHRM-CP/PHR preferred.
  • 2+ years of HR administration or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage talent acquisition activities, ATS, interviews, offers.
  • Coordinate onboarding and initial training for new hires.
  • Administer biweekly payroll and resolve payroll issues.
  • Oversee HR administration, leave, unemployment claims, and records.
  • Support compensation, benefits programs, and reporting.
  • Ensure policy compliance and assist with employee relations.
  • Assist with performance reviews and engagement surveys.

Rooted in our core values of Safety, Expertise, Engagement, Caring and Motivating, and Professionalism, we distinguish ourselves through our commitment to quality, our stellar reputation, and our wealth of experience.Job PurposeThe Human Resources Generalist supports all functional areas of Human Resources and works closely with the Human Resources Director to carry out HR programs, processes, and initiatives across the organization. A significant portion of this role is dedicated to full-cycle, high-volume recruiting, while also providing broad day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesManage and support talent acquisition activities, including reviewing applications, maintaining the applicant tracking system (ATS) and job postings, conducting initial interviews, coordinating second-round interviews, preparing and sending offer letters, and managing pre-employment background checks.Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including scheduling and facilitating onboarding meetings and coordinating initial training programs to support a smooth and effective transition into the organization.Administer biweekly payroll by verifying the accuracy of payroll-related data, gathering and inputting payroll changes, and working with employees to resolve issueOversee HR administration, including record-keeping, HRIS management, paid time off and leave of absence management, unemployment claim responses, employment verification and other similar dutiesSupport the administration of compensation and benefits programs.Develop and generate regular and ad hoc reporting on HR and payroll data to inform business decisions.Maintain and communicate company policies to ensure policy enforcement, employee support, and legal compliance.Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR-related matters.Support Senior Management with the resolution of employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures by providing input about company policies and practices, coordinating meetings and follow-up and assisting with documentation.Maintain compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, staying abreast of changes and updates.With the guidance of Senior Management, implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives, such as coordinating the annual performance review process, employee engagement survey, learning and development initiatives, etc.Promote the company culture and champion the company’s Core ValuesOther duties and responsibilities as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree, ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; and/or HR certification (SHRM-CP/PHR)2+ years of experience in Human Resources administration or management preferredThorough understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others.Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.Proven track record of driving HR initiatives and achieving results.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office, and other HR-related software.BenefitsHealth Insurance: Eligibility to participate in the company’s group health plan, dental, vision, long term disability and basic life effective the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.Paid Time Off: Paid Time Off starting at 13 days accrued per year, and 7 paid Holidays.401k Retirement Benefit: Employees age 21 and up who have completed 12 months of employment and 1000 hours worked may participate in the company’s 401k retirement benefit to which the company contributes a match of up to 4% of the employee’s wages.Employee discount programJob DetailsThis is a salaried, full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday.
