DriveSafe Driving Schools in Colorado Springs is seeking part-time classroom instructors to teach driving laws and techniques in a classroom setting. You will create an engaging learning environment and collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth learning experience.

The role requires 23+ years, a Colorado driver's license, clean driving and criminal records, and prior classroom instruction experience.

Qualifications

• 23 years of age or older.
• Colorado Driver's License.
• Safe driving history; MVRC check.
• Criminal background check passed.
• College degree or comparable work experience.
• 2+ years classroom instruction experience preferred.
• State teacher certification a plus.
• Ability to work with teens and adults in teaching/mentoring roles.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Organized and able to work independently.
• Responsible and dependable.
• Good judgment and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in a classroom using DriveSafe Approach.
• Prepare for each class per policies and procedures.
• Complete state mandated paperwork accurately.

• Clean the classroom at shift end.

Job Purpose

Teach students driving laws, regulations, and techniques while in a classroom setting. Provide accurate and detailed knowledge of the rules of the road. Create an interactive and positive learning environment. Work with team members to ensure a smooth learning experience.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students while in a classroom using the DriveSafe Approach.
• Prepare for each class according to policies and procedures.
• Complete and handle state mandanted paperwork accurately.
• Work with team members to manage special circumstances.
• Clean the classroom at the end of each shift.
• Submit available hours in a timely manner according to policies and procedures.

• Safe driving history - a Motor Vehicle Record check will be reviewed
• Applicants must pass a criminal background check
• College Degree or comparable work experience
• 2+ years classroom instruction experience preferred
• State teacher certification a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work with teens and adults in a teaching or mentoring role.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom of teenagers.

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Classroom Instructors present driver's education material in front of a classroom for long periods of time up to 4 hours in length.

Job Details

This position requires the availability and flexibility to work weekends during school year; and weekdays or weekends during the summer. Right now we are staffing for our busy Summer season and looking for capable Classroom Instructors to work weekdays between 8 and 40 hours per week during High School break (approximately May through August - flexible start/end dates for seasonal employees), and we also have part-time positions year-round (up to 16 hours per week) for those interested in working weekend shifts. We accept applications year-round at our 12 DriveSafe locations, however availability may be based on seasonal and business demands.Please review the DriveSafe Locations map at this link.
