Job summary

SK Food Group in Cleveland, TN is seeking an HR Support Specialist to strengthen associate experience and communications at the plant level. This onsite role supports day‑to‑day HR workflows across staffing, leave administration, and recordkeeping.

You will help manage timecards, maintain personnel files in SharePoint and ADP/HRIS, assist with recruitment, onboarding, and associate relations while upholding confidentiality and high service standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR experience in a plant or manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Support daily HR workflows and deliver superior customer service to associates and internal partners.
• Process personnel changes and benefits paperwork; assist with plant communications and staffing needs.
• Manage associate leave and accurate ADP entries to support payroll and records.
• Oversee timecards and bi-weekly pay period close with accuracy.
• Maintain employment files and SharePoint/ADP/HRIS records for hires, terminations, leaves, transfers, and promotions.
• Assist with policy communications, programmes, and benefits guidance.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and coordination with outside suppliers.
• Handle associate relations matters including harassment complaints.
• Ensure HR programs align with company policies; perform other facility support duties.

Join SK FOOD GROUP and support the plant Human Resources team in a role focused on associate experience, communication, and people operations that help drive engagement and retention. This onsite position in Cleveland, TN 37353 supports day‑to‑day HR workflows across staffing, associate relations, leave administration, and recordkeeping, while helping keep managers and associates informed and supported.

What you’ll do

• Support the daily workflow of the plant HR department by delivering superior customer service to associates and internal partners.
• Process personnel changes and benefits paperwork, assist with plant communications, and help coordinate staffing and hiring needs.
• Manage associate leave, including leaves of absence administration and transitional work or accommodations, and ensure timely and accurate ADP entries to support payroll and records.
• Oversee associate timecards with timely and accurate review at each pay period’s bi‑weekly close.
• Maintain accurate employment files and records, including timely updates to SharePoint and ADP/HRIS for events such as new hires, termination, leaves, transfers, and promotions.
• Assist with administration and communication of SK Food Group policies, procedures, programs, and benefits, providing guidance to associates and management.
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding, including working with outside suppliers for associate services such as temporary associates.
• Handle associate relations matters including harassment allegations, work complaints, and other associate concerns.
• Ensure HR programs are applied in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Perform other facility support duties as assigned.

Skills and qualifications

• 2+ years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
• Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish or other prevalent language at the plant location (preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to use HRIS and payroll/timekeeping systems (ADP experience preferred)
• Strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams
• Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and delegate when appropriate

Certifications

PHR, SHRM‑CP, or related Human Resources Certification preferred.

Training and work environment

• Training required on Good Manufacturing Practices to support effective implementation of the Food Safety Plan and maintain food safety, quality, and process efficiency.
• Additional training required on how to identify food safety issues such as temperature control, cross‑contamination, and sanitation and cleanliness of the lines.
• Occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold (non‑weather), and loud noise (from machines).
• Most time spent in an office environment where noise level is usually moderate.

Compensation: USD 57,766 - 72,207 per year.
