Job summary

Aisin Texas is seeking an HR Generalist in Cibolo, TX to foster employee relations, support policies, and promote a culture of trust. Reporting to the HR Assistant Manager, this role advises managers and Team Members on employment practices and leaves.

Responsibilities include building relationships, addressing concerns, ensuring policy compliance, delivering training, and maintaining confidentiality; travel is not required.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist supports the organization by fostering positive employee relations, strengthening communication, and promoting a workplace culture built on mutual trust, respect, and open dialogue. Reporting to the Human Resources Assistant Manager, this position serves as a resource for Team Members and management by helping identify and address workplace concerns, providing guidance on company policies and employment practices, and supporting the early detection and prevention of employee relations issues.

This position develops and supports communication methods, engagement activities, and other initiatives designed to strengthen relationships between Team Members and the company. The Human Resources Generalist also supports compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, leave programs, and related Human Resources practices to help ensure employees and management operate appropriately, consistently, and effectively.

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Team Members and management to foster an open, respectful, and communicative workplace environment.
  • Serve as a resource to Team Members regarding company policies, procedures, workplace expectations, and other Human Resources-related matters.
  • Gather and evaluate Team Member feedback, concerns, and workplace observations to identify potential employee relations issues and support timely resolution.
  • Meet with Team Members and management to discuss workplace concerns, policy questions, employee relations matters, and other Human Resources-related issues.
  • Review employee relations matters and recommend appropriate actions consistent with company policies, procedures, established practices, and applicable employment requirements.
  • Support the early identification and prevention of workplace issues that may negatively affect Team Member morale, engagement, or organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement communication activities, employee engagement events, and other initiatives designed to strengthen communication and relationships throughout the organization.
  • Promote understanding of the company's purpose, values, objectives, policies, and expectations to support employee engagement and organizational culture.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and Team Members regarding Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Leave of Absence (LOA), Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and other applicable leave or employment programs.
  • Develop and deliver training or informational resources related to employee relations, company policies, leave programs, and other Human Resources topics as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and workplace information.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Partner with Human Resources leadership and other departments to support employee relations initiatives and address workplace concerns.
  • Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in employee relations, Team Member relations, internal communications, Human Resources, or a related role.
  • Working knowledge of employee relations practices and applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, LOA, STD, LTD, and other employee leave and disability programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust and communicate effectively with Team Members and management at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate policies, expectations, and sensitive information clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to listen effectively, gather information, identify concerns, and exercise sound judgment when evaluating employee relations matters.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with appropriate discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work independently while supporting broader Human Resources and organizational objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow employee relations matters through resolution in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create professional documents, presentations, reports, graphs, and other business communications using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and consistently apply company policies and procedures.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in employee relations, Team Member relations, internal communications, Human Resources, or a related role preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting employee relations within an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience conducting employee meetings, workplace investigations, employee engagement activities, or employee relations training preferred.
  • Experience working in a multinational or cross-cultural organization preferred.

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications, or a related field required.
