Job summary

Envista Holdings Corporation seeks an HR Generalist for its Commercial organization in California. This role provides hands-on HR support, employee relations expertise, and advisory partnership with leaders to drive talent, performance, and engagement across the employee lifecycle.

You will collaborate with HR COEs, Talent Acquisition, and Shared Services to ensure compliant HR practices and data-driven insights while navigating employment laws at federal, state, and local levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, or 4+ years HR experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR generalist experience; commercial or field support preferred.
  • Must reside within commuting distance to Brea, CA; not hybrid/remote.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary HR contact for Commercial leaders and employees on policies and lifecycle matters.
  • Coach managers on performance management, documentation, and corrective action.
  • Lead employee relations, investigations, and escalation with compliant outcomes.
  • Support talent reviews, succession planning, and retention of high performers.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition for Commercial recruiting.
  • Use workforce data to identify risks and provide actionable insights to leaders.
  • Deliver HR training sessions, including New Hire Orientation and policy updates.
  • Coordinate with HR Shared Services on leaves and compliance with FMLA/ADA/state laws.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and action planning.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales Ops, Finance, and HR COEs.

Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist, Commercial partners closely with the North America Commercial organization to support business success through hands‑on HR support, employee relations expertise, and strong partnership with leaders. This role serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, delivering practical and compliant HR solutions across the employee lifecycle while supporting talent, performance, and engagement initiatives aligned to business priorities. This position requires a proactive, detail‑oriented HR professional who is comfortable operating independently, navigating employee relations matters, and collaborating across HR Centers of Excellence and Shared Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for Commercial leaders and employees, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee lifecycle matters.
  • Partner with managers to ensure consistent, fair, and timely performance management, including coaching, documentation, and corrective action.
  • Lead and support employee relations matters, including issue resolution, investigations, and appropriate escalation, ensuring compliant and well‑documented outcomes.
  • Support talent management processes, including talent reviews, succession planning discussions, and identification and retention of high performers.
  • Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support recruiting efforts for Commercial roles, including resume review, interview coordination, and hiring process guidance.
  • Use workforce data and trends (e.g., turnover, engagement, staffing needs) to identify risks and opportunities and provide actionable insights to leaders.
  • Facilitate and deliver HR training sessions, including New Hire Orientation, policy education, and HR updates for team meetings or town halls.
  • Partner with HR Shared Services and leave management vendors to support leaves of absence and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and applicable state laws.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including survey administration, feedback sessions, and follow‑up action planning.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales Operations, Finance, and HR COEs to ensure HR practices support commercial business strategy.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure compliant HR practices.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as needed, including change management and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or 4+ years of relevant HR experience in lieu of education.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role; commercial or field‑based support experience preferred.
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to Brea, Ca.
  • This is not a hybrid or remote role.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting leaders in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA).
  • Proven experience handling employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion.
  • HRIS proficiency highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and coach leaders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Target Market Salary Range

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
