  • Process HR documents (eDocs) and maintain records.
  • Communicate HR policy reminders and program updates to staff and supervisors.
  • Counsel employees on HR topics and regulatory requirements.

IU HUMAN RESOURCES (UA-HUMM-IUBLA)


Indiana University (IU) Human Resources (HR) supports the broader Indiana University academic and research mission, through a wide variety of strategic and operational functions related to recruiting, retaining, and developing a varied employee workforce.


IU Human Resources provides university-wide services with the explicit recognition of the following customers: executives, managers, employees, and federal and state agencies. Services are intended to be provided in a partnership environment; simultaneously accommodating fiscal realities and maintaining a commitment to quality and integrity.


Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Conducts pre-onboarding activities for staff hired by assigned departments, including completion of background checks, I-9 Employment Verification, E-Verify processing, and responds to I-9 compliance audits.

  • Coordinates New Employee Evaluations, sending forms to supervisors to ensure completion by evaluation due dates.

  • Monitors Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) cases for assigned departments and replies to requests, assigning, or escalating issues to unit HR Business Partners (HRBPs) as needed.

  • Assists with posting jobs in the Talent Acquisition Management (TAM) PeopleSoft platform and supports HRBPs and hiring managers throughout the hiring process, including updating application status.

  • Processes eDocs as directed by HR Business Partners to maintain position and employee records.

  • Communicates HR policy and program reminders to employees and supervisors in assigned departments, including paid time off (ePTO) submission and approval reminders.


General Responsibilities


  • Counsels academic and/or staff employees and management on various HR topics and functions; communicates and shares understanding of various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.

  • Researches, responds to, and addresses various employee relation issues such as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), employee complaints, workers compensation, etc.

  • Develops in-depth knowledge and skill in various HR functions, in addition to growing knowledge in HR policies, procedures, and legal requirements to provide quality HR guidance to academic and/or staff employees and managers.

  • Develops a thorough understanding of the operational strategy and culture for recruitment coordinator, school or department.

  • Contributes and/or manages various academic and/or staff HR activities, projects, or initiatives, such as recruitment, onboarding, engagement, or performance management.

  • Researches and stays up-to-date on relevant academic and/or HR topics.

  • May conduct research and analysis for local/department HR team or centers of expertise (COE) partners and develops solutions and recommends course of action.

  • May lead small projects or activities.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.


$54,000.00 - 57,000.00 annually
