Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington's HR department is seeking a recruitment coordinator in Bloomington. This role supports pre-onboarding, background checks, I-9/E-Verify, and posting jobs in TAM/PeopleSoft while aiding HR Business Partners and hiring managers throughout the hiring process.

  • Pre-onboarding activities including background checks, I-9 verification, E-Verify, and responding to I-9 audits.
  • Coordinate New Employee Evaluations and ensure completion by due dates.
  • Monitor Salesforce CRM cases and route to HRBPs as needed.
  • Assist with posting jobs in TAM/PeopleSoft and support HRBPs and hiring managers.
  • Process eDocs to maintain position and employee records.
  • Communicate HR policy reminders to employees and supervisors, including ePTO submissions.

Department Information

Indiana University (IU) Human Resources (HR) supports the broaderIndiana University academic and research mission, through a widevariety of strategic and operational functions related torecruiting, retaining, and developing a varied employeeworkforce.

IU Human Resources provides university-wide services with theexplicit recognition of the following customers: executives,managers, employees, and federal and state agencies. Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Conducts pre-onboarding activities for staff hired by assigneddepartments, including completion of background checks, I-9Employment Verification, E-Verify processing, and responds to I-9compliance audits.
  • Coordinates New Employee Evaluations, sending forms tosupervisors to ensure completion by evaluation due dates.
  • Monitors Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM)cases for assigned departments and replies to requests, assigning,or escalating issues to unit HR Business Partners (HRBPs) asneeded.
  • Assists with posting jobs in the Talent Acquisition Management(TAM) PeopleSoft platform and supports HRBPs and hiring managersthroughout the hiring process, including updating applicationstatus.
  • Processes eDocs as directed by HR Business Partners to maintainposition and employee records.
  • Communicates HR policy and program reminders to employees andsupervisors in assigned departments, including paid time off (ePTO)submission and approval reminders.
General Responsibilities
  • Counsels academic and/or staff employees and management onvarious HR topics and functions; communicates and sharesunderstanding of various human resource policies, procedures, laws,standards and other government regulations.
  • Researches, responds to, and addresses various employeerelation issues such as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA),employee complaints, workers compensation, etc.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge and skill in various HR functions,in addition to growing knowledge in HR policies, procedures, andlegal requirements to provide quality HR guidance to academicand/or staff employees and managers.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the operational strategyand culture for recruitment coordinator, school or department.
  • Contributes and/or manages various academic and/or staff HRactivities, projects, or initiatives, such as recruitment,onboarding, engagement, or performance management.
  • Researches and stays up-to-date on relevant academic and/or HRtopics.
  • May conduct research and analysis for local/department HR teamor centers of expertise (COE) partners and develops solutions andrecommends course of action.
  • May lead small projects or activities.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and tooperate a computer and other standard office productivityequipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periodsof time moving around an office environment and the campus. Theperson in this role must be able to perform the essential functionswith or without an accommodation.

Work Location

Bloomington, Indiana

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remoteand in-person work), subject to change in the future based upon university policy and business needs.

Advertised Salary

$54,000.00 - 57,000.00 annually
