Korpack is seeking an HR Generalist to manage onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations in a fast-growing environment. You will handle offer letters, background checks, I-9/E-Verify, and 90-day reviews while maintaining HRIS records and ensuring audit-ready files.

The role requires 2–4 years in HR, a bachelor’s degree, and solid knowledge of federal and Illinois employment law.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years HR generalist or HR coordinator experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal and Illinois employment law.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/payroll system.
  • Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Own Day One: offer letters, background checks, I-9/E-Verify, new-hire packets, orientation, and 90-day review scheduling.
  • Be the First Call for employees and managers on benefits, policies and the handbook, support open enrollment.
  • Maintain HRIS and personnel files, process status changes, terminations and payroll data; cover FMLA/ADA/FLSA/EEO/OSHA records.
  • Handle Employee Relations: document concerns, assist investigations, resolve issues.
  • Build the People Programs: training, performance reviews, engagement, headcount and turnover reporting.

Korpack is a food-grade, SQF-certified co-packer and a three-time Inc. 5000 honoree, and we're doubling into 350,000 sq ft across two facilities. That kind of growth lands on HR first: more hires, more onboarding, more questions and more compliance. We're looking for an HR Generalist who keeps all of it accurate and on time, and who becomes the person employees trust to have the answer.

The Journey
  • Own Day One. Handle offer letters, background checks, I-9/E-Verify, new-hire packets, orientation and 90-day review scheduling.
  • Be the First Call. Be the go-to for employees and managers on benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), leave), policies and the handbook. Support open enrollment and escalat
  • Keep Records and Compliance Clean. Maintain the HRIS and personnel files and process status changes, terminations and payroll data. Cover FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO and OSHA recordkeeping, required postings, workers' comp and leave requests.
  • Handle Employee Relations Fairly. Document concerns, assist with investigations and resolve issues consistently.
  • Build the People Programs. Run the training schedule and ISO competence records, performance review cycles and engagement initiatives. Report headcount, turnover and time-to-fill.
What Success Looks Like
  • New hires start on time with every form complete.
  • Personnel files and I-9s are audit-ready any day.
  • Managers get reliable HR metrics without chasing them.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2-4 years of HR generalist or HR coordinator experience
  • Working knowledge of federal and Illinois employment law
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and an HRIS/payroll system
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math
Preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or distribution environment
  • Experience supporting ISO 9001 training and competence documentation
The Challenges

We're growing fast, and some HR processes are still being built, so you'll build them as you run them. You'll handle many priorities at once, with confidential information, and split your time between the office and the production floor.

The Work

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., mostly office-based with regular time in production areas. No direct reports. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
