Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Director to join our Phoenix leadership team.

Reporting to the CEO, this role ensures HR activities comply with state and federal laws, licensing standards, and contracts, while overseeing recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, workers’ compensation and HRIS records. Required: Bachelor’s in HR or related field; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field is required.
• Minimum of 8 years HR leadership experience; healthcare experience preferred.
• HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations.
• Ensure HR activities comply with state and federal laws, licensing standards and contracts.
• Maintain all personnel records and HRIS data.
• Lead workers’ compensation and ensure compliance across the organization.

For over 60 years, Calvary Healing Center has provided a full continuum of care, specializing in addiction treatment for adults across the Phoenix area and Nationwide. Calvary’s proven treatment programs address the practical, physical, and spiritual aspects of addiction for lasting recovery. Our flagship location in Phoenix offers on-site detoxification and in-patient treatment programs, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). We also have a satellite clinic offering Intensive Outpatient Programs in the West Valley region. Through our programs we offer many other holistic healing and treatment options complementing our services ranging from yoga, art workshops, and music.

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Human Resources Director to join our team!

We are looking for a forward thinking Director of Human Resources to be part of our Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position ensures HR activities are in compliance with State and Federal laws, licensing and accreditation bodies, and facility contracts. Oversees and is hands-on in all HR functions including recruitment, compensation, benefits, training/orientation, employee relations, workers’ compensation and maintaining all personnel records in files and the HRIS system.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 8 years of Human Resources experience; previous healthcare experience preferred. Previous supervisory/management experience. HR Certification (through HRCI or SHRM) preferred.

Requirements: Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and an understanding of Federal and State employment laws and regulations related to HR. Working knowledge of administering wage/salary programs, benefits, workers compensation, recruiting/retention plans, training/staff development, and employee relations. Requires leadership, organizational, supervisory and administrative abilities including excellent computer skills and knowledge of various software, internet-based HR systems and email.
