Job summary

3P Partners is seeking a Director of Human Resources to build and scale the HR function for a growing manufacturing company in the Inland Empire, CA. The role reports to the CEO and works on shaping people strategy, organizational structure, and leadership effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Assess current HR function and recommend changes to structure and tools.
  • Develop HR strategy aligned with business goals, including workforce planning and career development.
  • Lead lean HR function with clear priorities, training, and process consistency.
  • Oversee payroll and compliance, including wage/hour requirements.
  • Lead change management initiatives with department leaders for agility and transformation.
  • Implement career development frameworks and leadership development programs.
  • Partner with executive leadership to modernize compensation structures.
  • Design and implement a performance management program with coaching and data-driven feedback.
  • Drive culture, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies.
  • Lead core HR functions including benefits, workforce planning, succession, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Leverage HR analytics to provide leadership insights.
  • Assess HR systems and recommend improvements or alternatives.
  • Support organizational initiatives such as relocation with change management.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and mitigate risk.

Job description

  • Build and scale the HR function for a growing manufacturing company, driving transformation across talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, shaping people strategy, organizational structure, and leadership effectiveness
  • On-site position in the Inland Empire, CA; $130-150K base salary + bonus + great benefits

The Director of Human Resources is a hands-on leader responsible for driving transformation, culture enhancement, and talent development within the organization. This role focuses on aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, implementing change management strategies, and fostering a high-performance environment.

This position requires a leader who can operate both strategically and tactically, serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, and drive organizational effectiveness in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct an initial assessment of the HR function and present recommendations for structure, priorities, and tools
  • Develop and execute an HR strategy aligned with organizational goals, including workforce planning, career development, and compensation
  • Lead and develop a lean HR function with clear priorities, training, and process consistency
  • Provide oversight of payroll and compliance, including applicable wage and hour requirements
  • Lead change management initiatives in partnership with department leaders to support organizational agility and business transformation
  • Implement career development frameworks, including learning paths, mentorship programs, and leadership development
  • Partner with executive leadership to review and modernize compensation structures, including pay scales and reward frameworks
  • Design and implement a performance management program with a focus on coaching and data-driven feedback
  • Drive initiatives to enhance culture, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness
  • Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Lead core HR functions including benefits, workforce planning, succession management, employee relations, and compliance
  • Leverage HR analytics and key performance indicators to provide insights to leadership
  • Assess the effectiveness of current HR systems and recommend improvements or alternatives
  • Support major organizational initiatives, including relocation or restructuring efforts, with a strong focus on change management
  • Ensure compliance with evolving employment laws and proactively mitigate risk
  • Serve as an advocate for employees while balancing business needs and ensuring consistent HR practices
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Senior-level HR experience within an operating company environment; multi-site experience preferred
  • Expertise in compensation and benefits design, pay equity, career pathing, policy interpretation, and vendor management
  • Exceptional communication, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence and partner with senior leadership to drive business outcomes
  • Sound judgement on when to elevate to legal counsel versus managing internally
  • Comfort leading through change, including restructuring or relocation
  • Ability to foster a high-performance culture through coaching and development
  • Highly adaptable, results-driven, and solutions-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications a plus
