Job summary

Lion Country Safari is seeking a proactive HR Coordinator to support our HR department. This hands-on role covers recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, employee engagement, and internal communications.

The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will represent HR with warmth and apply strong communication to every interaction with employees and applicants.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in HR roles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; professional discretion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; HRIS knowledge preferred (e.g., Paylocity).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the full recruitment process: posting positions, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, contacting candidates, and supporting pre-employment.
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring access to needed resources and training.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and help ensure compliance with policies and practices.
  • Coordinate and support training programs, including scheduling, materials, and tracking completion.
  • Help develop and maintain employee recognition and engagement programs.
  • Prepare and distribute the monthly HR newsletter highlighting updates and events.
  • Represent Lion Country Safari professionally to employees and applicants.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
  • Assist with HR projects, events, and special initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with managers to support staffing, development, and day-to-day HR needs.

Lion Country Safari is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Coordinator to support our HR department. This hands-on role supports a variety of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, employee engagement, and communication.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position combines strong HR knowledge with a hospitality and service mindset. As a key representative of both HR and Lion Country Safari, the HR Coordinator should bring warmth, professionalism, and excellent communication to every interaction with employees and applicants.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the full recruitment process, including posting open positions, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and supporting pre-employment processes.
  • Support the HR team with new-hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring employees receive the information, resources, and training needed to successfully begin their roles.
  • Assist with HR compliance by maintaining accurate employee records, supporting required documentation, and helping ensure company policies and employment practices are followed.
  • Coordinate and support training programs for new and existing employees, including scheduling, materials, communication, and tracking completion.
  • Help develop and maintain employee recognition and engagement programs that celebrate employee contributions and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Prepare and distribute the monthly HR newsletter, highlighting important HR updates, employee accomplishments, upcoming events, training opportunities, and organizational news.
  • Serve as a professional and approachable representative of Lion Country Safari and the Human Resources department, providing employees and applicants with knowledgeable, respectful, and timely assistance.
  • Foster a workplace environment centered around professionalism, kindness, teamwork, and exceptional service.
  • Assist with employee communications and HR initiatives, ensuring information is shared clearly and consistently.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and HR information.
  • Assist with HR projects, events, and special initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate with managers and department leaders to support staffing, employee development, training, and day-to-day HR needs.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and HR processes.
  • Provide general administrative and organizational support to the Human Resources department.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact positively with employees at all levels.
  • A genuine interest in helping people and creating a positive employee experience.
  • Professional, friendly, approachable, and service-oriented personality.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources, recruiting, employee relations, training, or administrative support preferred.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an HR-related roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); HRIS knowledge preferred (e.g., Paylocity).
  • Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) a plus.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and HR compliance standards.
  • Customer-service mindset and proactive attitude.

  • Must always represent the organization positively, both on and off the property.
  • Commitment to following all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to provide support in other areas as needed.
