Job summary

Sodus-Rehabilitation-and-Nursing-Center is seeking a qualified Human Resources Coordinator to lead HR programs in Village of Sodus, NY. The role focuses on benefits administration, time-off management, and scheduling with emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include payroll review, recruitment support, onboarding, and employee relations to maintain a positive workplace. Requires HR experience, policy knowledge, and proficiency with HR software and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years’ HR experience with knowledge of HR policies and law.
  • Familiarity with HR databases, applicant tracking systems (ATS), CMS, and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Coordinate and administer HR programs including employee relations, benefits administration, time-off management, and scheduling.
  • Review weekly payroll for accuracy before submission to Business Office.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding pay, staffing, and benefits.
  • Assist in recruiting, identify staff needs, and support recruiting efforts.
  • Resolve employee issues and concerns regarding employment data and HR processes.
  • Maintain employee records and files.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Screen candidate resumes and job applications.
  • Onboard new employees to ensure full integration.

Position Purpose:

To assume the lead role in developing and implementing the facility’s human resources programs and services such as employee relations, benefits administration, time off management and scheduling.

Educational Requirements:

High school graduate or GED required

Experience Required:

Minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resources with knowledge of Human Resources policies and law.

Other Qualifications/Requirements:

Familiarity with human resource databases, applicant tracking systems and CMS, and experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and administer a variety of programs and activities covering multiple human resources activities including employee relations, benefits administration, time off management, and scheduling.

  • Responsible for review and accuracy of weekly payroll prior to submitting to Business Office.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding general human resources issues such as pay, staffing, and benefits.

  • Assists in the recruiting process, including working with managers to identify staff needs and supporting recruiting efforts.

  • Resolve employee issues and concerns regarding employment data and human resources processes and procedures.

  • Maintain employee records and files.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.

  • Provide other administrative support as needed.

  • Screen candidate resumes and job applications.

  • Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrated.

  • Conduct interviews using various reliable personnel selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule.

  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.

  • Adheres to rules of attendance as outlined and received on orientation to the facility. 14. Participates in inspections (surveys) conducted by authorized agencies

  • Participates in quality assurance and improvement processes within the facility. 16. Demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of the facility through professional excellence. 17. Exhibits calm behavior and uses professional judgement while working in a team approach during emergency situations.

  • Assists co-workers as needed and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues.

  • Exhibits professional conduct and behavior through cooperative interactions with others and accepts personal responsibility for their own actions.

  • Reports for their assigned shift in a timely fashion.

  • Adheres to the facility dress code.

Staff Development Functions
  • Attends departmental meetings as scheduled to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services

  • Participates in the orientation of new staff members to the facility and ensures that appropriate education and mentoring is in place.

  • Attends and participates in scheduled training and educational classes.

  • Attends and completes all mandatory in-service programs.
