Job summary

Atmos Energy Corporation is seeking an HR professional to provide day-to-day HR operations support and oversee personnel administration with accurate HR records.

You will support onboarding, benefits administration, employee data changes, and retirement processes, acting as the HR contact for employees and stakeholders across milestones and transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day HR operational support and oversees personnel administration with accurate HR records and compliance.
  • Supports full employee lifecycle: onboarding, benefits, data changes, retirement processes; acts as HR point of contact.
  • Coordinates drug, alcohol, and motor vehicle programs with Shared Services HR and Safety.
  • Communicates HR information (benefits, retirement, safety policies) to employees and stakeholders.
  • Responds to inquiries from leadership, employees, and outside contacts.
  • Interfaces with vendor organizations to ensure quality service and timely resolutions in programs.
  • Manages day-to-day leave processes, tracking, and coordination with third-party admins; supports FMLA, ADA, policies.
  • Monitors HR processes for policy/regulation compliance and supports audits and data reporting.
  • Assists HR team with talent acquisition and employee relations activities.

Primary Duties
  • 1. Provides day-to-day HR operational support and oversees personnel administration, assuring accurate HR records and compliance with policies, including proper processing, maintenance and entry into the Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
  • 2. Supports the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, benefits administration, employee data changes, and retirement processes. Coordinates activities, serves as the point of contact for HR related inquiries and provides guidance and support to employees and stakeholders throughout key milestones and transitions.
  • 3. Coordinates the Company’s drug and alcohol and motor vehicle programs in partnership with Shared Services HR and Safety.
  • 4. Communicates and presents HR related information (benefits, retirement, safety policies, procedures, guidelines, etc.) to employees and stakeholders across various settings. Provides assistance and support to all organizational levels in the interpretation and application of HR related policies and procedures.
  • 5. Researches and responds to inquiries and requests from leadership, employees, and outside contacts.
  • 6. Communicates with vendor organizations to facilitate quality customer service and problem resolution in the administration of programs. Enlists Shared Services HR support appropriately and timely to address complex situations and improve outcomes.
  • 7. Administers day-to-day leave of absence processes including claim intake, tracking, and coordination with third-party administrators. Maintains accurate timekeeping and leave records and communicates routine leave information to employees, leaders, HR business partners, and other stakeholders to support compliance with FMLA, ADA, and company policies.
  • 8. Monitors HR processes to assure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Assures accuracy and timeliness in audits, data entry, and reporting processes, and collaborates with HR business partners and other internal departments as needed to support business objectives.
  • 9. Assists HR team members and leadership with talent acquisition and employee relation activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Educational/Experience Level:
    • 1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a closely related field; or
    • 2. Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field and one year related experience; or
    • 3. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and two years related experience.
    • 4. Valid Driver's License
  • Communication Skills: Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information on technical and other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the subject under discussion.
  • Numeric Skills: Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
  • Computer Skills: Requires working knowledge of various software applications to create documents reports and/or graphics.
  • Physical Demands: Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
  • Work Conditions: Works in an office environment. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
