Serena & Lily is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This entry-level position is ideal for a pragmatic, data-driven individual with experience in ecommerce, retail, or customer service environments. You will support HR operations by executing administrative functions, analyzing HR metrics, translating strategic direction into actionable tasks, and making meaningful recommendations to improve our people processes.
Responsibilities
- Support payroll administration, including processing employee records, verifying data accuracy, and coordinating with payroll partners
- Manage HR documentation and maintain employee records with meticulous attention to detail and compliance requirements
- Collect, organize, and analyze HR data (headcount, turnover, hiring metrics) to support decision-making and identify trends
- Assist with recruitment coordination, including job posting, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, and onboarding
- Manage mail distribution and correspondence routing for HR department
- Process wage garnishments and ensure compliance with garnishment orders and legal requirements
- Support unemployment claims administration, including responding to claims, gathering documentation, and liaising with state agencies
- Administer employee training programs, including scheduling, enrollment tracking, completion documentation, and compliance reporting
- Develop process improvements and present recommendations based on data and insights
- Execute HR policies and procedures with consistency and clear communication across the organization
- Handle ad hoc HR projects and respond independently to evolving business needs
Qualifications
- Background in ecommerce, retail, or customer service environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy-focused mindset
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to follow clear direction and translate instructions into actionable tasks independently
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and basic data entry
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and receive feedback
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to or experience with payroll functions
- Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) or applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Prior HR or administrative support experience
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
- $73-75k per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as experience, education, and skills.
