Job summary

The Metropolitan Alliance of Connected Communities (MACC) is seeking a part-time HR Coordinator to support HR projects and administrative functions for 20+ member organizations. The role is primarily remote with occasional on-site meetings, Monday through Friday, 20-25 hours per week.

You will assist with compliance reporting, employee records, job descriptions, training support, and communications, working closely with HR Business Partners to support staff and partner organizations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Experience in nonprofit settings is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR data management software.

Responsibilities

  • Support HR Business Partners with tasks and projects on the roadmap.
  • Distribute job descriptions to supervisors weekly.
  • Draft letters and memos and file documents in personnel records.
  • Assist in annual performance cycles, engagement surveys, and training.

Wages

$24 - $25 per hour depending on qualifications and level of experience.

Schedule

This position will work a total of 20-25 hours per week between 8am – 5pm; specific scheduled hours may be proposed and planned with the selected candidate.

Job Summary

The HR Coordinator at MACC supports a variety of human resources projects and administrative functions that help out the 20+ member organizations thrive. Responsibilities include compliance reporting, employee documentation, job description creation, engagement initiatives, workplace training support, and HR records management. This collaborative, mission-driven role works closely with our HR Business Partners (HRBP) to support employees, supervisors, and organizational partners. The position is primarily remote with occasional on-site meetings and visits, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the HRBP Team Roadmap, carrying out tasks and projects according to the timeline. Makes adjustments and additions as needed in support of the HRBP Team and MACC HR member organizations.
  • Send job descriptions to supervisors of all new hires on a weekly basis.
  • Drafting letters and memos as needed by request of HRBPs; saving documents sent by HRBPs in employee personnel files/member folders and tracking their return.
  • Support HRBPs by drafting materials, plans and schedules to assist in the coordination of the delivery of in-scope HR services, such as annual performance appraisal/merit increase cycle, annual administration of employee engagements surveys, harassment awareness and prevention training, the creation of job descriptions, employee offboarding tasks, reviewing job details of new hires against offer letters and regular review of employee exit interview surveys.
  • Support HRBPs in handbook update projects by note taking, researching policies, and helping follow up on open items.
  • Attends, in person or virtual agency leadership and/or staff meetings as requested by HRBPs to support on assigned projects or tasks.
  • Supports HR Partner with routine member investigations by scheduling meetings, documenting meeting notes, and provides observations and input.
  • Monitors member unemployment accounts weekly, reporting open items to each HRBP. Complete regular audits of users, directors and officers, and working with the HRBP/member to update as needed.
  • Run reports and employee roster lists as needed.
  • Act as tech and communications coordinator for all member communications and trainings.
  • Manage and coordinate the communication about labor law posters as needed.
  • Co-present trainings with HRBP team.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or demonstrably equivalent knowledge gained through alternative courses of study and experience, preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a Human Resources role – reasonable equivalents may be considered.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit setting desirable.
  • Working understanding of Human Resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Resilient, flexible, and able to adapt to quickly‐changing circumstances and responsibilities.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills displayed through strong listening, writing, and speaking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite software, internet resources and data management software.
  • Self-motivated, detailed-oriented individual with a strong ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Capable of managing difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Solid problem-solving and business acumen skills.
  • Ability to establish, maintain and grow healthy working relationships with internal and external partners in the course of work.
  • Ability to work independently on a broad variety of projects.
  • Ability to partner, collaborate, and listen effectively.
  • Ability to maintain absolute discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability to travel to member sites across Twin Cities Metro area.

  • Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet MACC’s driving record requirements.
