POSITION SUMMARY
** This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office per week. **
The Human Resources Coordinator provides transactional and administrative support across the HR department, handling the processing, recordkeeping, and coordination work that keeps HR operations running accurately and on schedule. Reporting to the CHRO, this role carries an expanded share of the department's day-to-day workload, including administrative recruiting support for hiring committees now that recruiting is coordinated through committee-based search processes rather than a dedicated recruiter. The HR Coordinator is the first point of contact for routine HR inquiries and supports benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, and employee records, escalating matters requiring judgment or discretion to the HR Manager and/or CHRO.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
HRIS and Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate employee records in ADP Workforce Now, including new hire entry, status changes, and terminations.
- Maintain physical and electronic personnel files in accordance with legal, regulatory, and institutional standards.
- Compile data and prepare standard HR reports as directed by the HR Manager or CHRO.
Benefits Administration Support
- Oversee administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and leave.
- Serve as the first point of contact for routine benefits inquiries; elevate complex situations to the HR Manager.
- Support open enrollment through employee communications, data entry, and HR Manager coordination.
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Coordinate new hire administrative onboarding, including offer letter preparation, background check initiation, I-9 completion, and paperwork collection.
- Facilitate orientation logistics, including scheduling, materials, and system access coordination with IT and other departments.
- Administer exit interview program; analyze trends and present recommendations to the CHRO.
- Support offboarding by preparing separation paperwork and ensuring timely completion of required documentation.
- Provide administrative recruiting support as directed by the HR Manager, including postings, interview scheduling with hiring committee members, candidate communications, and applicant tracking maintenance.
Employee Engagement Support
- Support the HR Manager in planning and executing engagement events, including logistics, vendor communication, materials, and on-site coordination.
- Track participation and gather feedback from engagement activities to support reporting and program evaluation.
General HR Support
- Respond to routine HR inquiries from employees and managers; triage and elevate as appropriate.
- Assist with compliance tasks including I-9 audits, EEO data collection, and other required reporting under the direction of the HR Manager.
- Support preparation of HR communications, forms, and departmental materials as directed.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including document management and other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- One to two years of administrative or HR support experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with or aptitude for HRIS systems; familiarity with ADP Workforce Now a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional and approachable demeanor.

WORK HOURS
The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Employees are expected to work within the core hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings, and may be required to work overtime.
