Human Resources Coordinator

Administration Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for all human resources (HR) functions and works closely with senior management in supporting direct service department programs within the company. The HR Coordinator continually provides services to the direct service staff to elevate their ability to serve our clients who are victims of violence. The HR Coordinator direct services include the following but are not limited to – new employee orientation training and annual retraining on the agency’s history, identification of victims of violence, client services and resources available by our agency; job training; staff counseling; developmental training and aligning direct service employee goodwill to meet the operational needs of the direct services programs. The HR Coordinator position carries out employment relations responsibilities to the organization in the following functional areas: compensation and benefits administration, employment and recruitment, state and federal law and regulatory compliance of company policy administration, employee relations of staff counseling and training, employee development, and organizational design for department program effectiveness ensuring a safe and productive workplace environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Directly responsible for administration, coordination and evaluation of HR functions and benefits administration, training and development of staff and leadership.
  • As part of the RCC team, works with the Chief Executive Officer and the department program management on employee relations, workplace strategies and policy and process development for direct and indirect services staff.
  • Ensures employment law and legal compliance throughout human resource
  • Ensure all HR, employee and company policies, processes, standards and protocols are enforced and followed with continuous process improvement recommendations to the employee handbook on an annual basis.
  • Employee relations management and the main point of contact for employee concerns and employee relation
  • Manages and oversees all the company progressive discipline process, involving the employee disciplinary action processes and documentation and follow-through.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the
  • Maintains HRIS records and employment files in compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations, following the Department of Labor (DOL) standards.
  • Manages benefits administration; benefits review with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes; verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment with accounting department.
  • Conducts recruitment efforts for all new personnel, including applicant screening, interviews, background checks, pre-employment checks and making job
  • Manages the pre-employment and hiring process, maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies and the employee onboarding process.
  • Manages and schedules new hire onboarding and communications; the company New Employee Orientation training (NEO), and provides trainings on employee relations and workplace initiatives.
  • Creates and maintains company organization charts and company job
  • Creates, implements and manages the performance management system that includes employee performance evaluations and employee development
  • Maintains an effective FMLA procedure including education of employees and managers and tracking of employee’s
  • Processes all post-employment reference calls, workers compensation claims, and manages state unemployment process with the Texas Workforce
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous

  • Continually assess and anticipate human resources needs for the company and make recommendations and work closely with the CEO.
WORK SCHEDULE

20-30 hours per week. Monday through Friday (some flexibility) with the possibility of occasional weekend and evening hours.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

SUPERVISOR AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree; or a combination of college coursework and certification in professional human resources licensing, e.g. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP.
  • Minimum five (5) years of employee relations and Human Resources management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, ADA, employment laws and state and federal laws and

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including listening, coaching and
