Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in HRM or related discipline required.
  • 2-3 years of Generalist HR experience required.
  • Manufacturing/auto industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS; ADP Workforce is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Employment Law (federal/state/local).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Able to work proactively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support in benefits, employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy guidance, and compliance.
  • Assimilate new employees, assist with orientation and pre-hire setup.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee relations and collaborate with HR to resolve issues.
  • Administer life cycle events: benefits enrollment, performance reviews, leaves, unemployment claims.
  • Maintain company-wide employee recognition and award processes.
  • Partner with HR teams on workflows, processes, and projects.

Job description

The purpose of this new role is to assist with all general HR related matters and to provide further support to our company’s long term vision based around the recruitment and organizational needs.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR support in the areas of benefits, employee relations, performance management, new employee onboarding, employment policy guidance, compliance;
  • Assimilates new employees into the organization, including pre-hire set-up & assistance with new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals & future plans;
  • Act as a point of contact regarding employee relation matters, while collaborating with team leaders and appropriate HR members to resolve any discrepancies and/or office conflicts;
  • Administers employee life cycle events, including benefits open enrollment, annual performance reviews, leaves of absence, unemployment claims;
  • Maintain and organize the company-wide employee recognition and award process;
  • Partner with HR teams on workflows, process improvements, projects and solutions;
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to ensure optimal organizational impact, including coaching, communicating employee progress toward goals, and taking corrective actions, where necessary; track and document employee performance, and provide feedback on applicable performance metrics;
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs as they occur;
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests;
  • Assist with HR events;
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity;
  • Maintain confidential electronic & physical files, employee data and processes actions in HRIS;
  • Assist with payroll on a semi-monthly and weekly basis;
  • Assist with Time and Attendance;
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices;
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed by Management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline required;
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Generalist experience required;
  • Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is a plus, not required;
  • Experience utilizing an HRIS system; Experience with ADP Workforce is a plus;
  • Must have a keen understanding of Employment Law, Federal, State and local regulations and how they apply to the organization;
  • Experience with all aspects of HR functions, including employee relations, benefits, payroll & compensation, EEO compliance and other legal and regulatory compliance;
  • Must possess solid communication, facilitation, interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Strong sense of accountability and strong project management skills required;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis;
  • Must be team-oriented and self-motivated;
  • Passion for rolling up your sleeves to get things done;
  • A strong sense of collaboration/one team mindset;

  • Identify concerns and initiate corrective actions (through verification) relating to product, process and quality systems
  • Initiate preventative and continuous improvement actions relating to product, process and quality systems.
HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Follow safe work procedures established by the Company; and follow the OH&S directions of the head of your department or supervisor
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems
  • Where PPE is required to control exposure to hazards in the workplace, wear and maintain the PPE as directed, as indicated in a risk assessment, or as required in OH&S procedures
  • Use other safety and emergency equipment provided in the workplace as directed or as required in OH&S procedures
  • Assist with the preparation of risk assessments
  • Before commencing work or research, a risk assessment should be conducted to identify, assess and control the hazards associated with the work or research. This should be conducted in conjunction with other relevant staff, researchers and the supervisor
  • Report OH&S problems
  • Report workplace hazards to the supervisor as soon as possible after they occur
  • Report injury or illness arising from workplace activities using the incident/injury reporting system as soon as possible after the incident
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
