Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner Manager to partner with business leaders, delivering comprehensive HRBP support including workforce planning, employee relations, engagement, and leadership coaching.

The role is based at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA with a hybrid option (3 days in office). Responsibilities include developing strategic HR initiatives, guiding the employee lifecycle, and collaborating with compensation on salary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in a progressive HRBP role.
• Proven experience partnering with business leaders to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives.
• Strong understanding of HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.
• Knowledge of ADA accommodation process from an HRBP perspective is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the HR Manager for the Sea, Land, Air (SLA) Division.
• Partner with business leaders to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with business goals including change management.
• Provide guidance on the employee lifecycle from recruitment to performance management and compensation.
• Assess organizational structure, span of control, workforce capabilities, and resource requirements.
• Investigate and handle employee relations matters, coaching managers and collaborating with leadership and legal as appropriate.
• Partner with compensation on salary recommendations, promotions, internal equity reviews, and market competitiveness.
• Analyze workforce data to identify trends in turnover, compensation, retention, and engagement.
• Lead talent reviews including succession planning and leadership development.
• Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to implement programs, policies, and initiatives.
• Stay current on HR trends and implement innovative HR processes.
• Serve as trusted advisor to business leaders on HR matters.
• Supervise an individual contributor.
• Participate in special projects and support other divisions as needed.

SPA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Business Partner Manager to join our growing team. In this strategic role, you will partner closely with business leaders to provide comprehensive Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) support, including Workforce Planning/Deployment, Employee Relations (ER), Engagement and Leadership Coaching. You will also serve as a utility player, taking on special projects and initiatives as needed.

This position is located at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA, with the opportunity for hybrid (3 days in office) remote work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the HR Manager for the Sea, Land, Air (SLA) Division.
• Partner with business leaders to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with business goals including change management.
• Provide expert guidance and support on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and compensation.
• Partner with leaders to assess organizational structure, span of control, workforce capabilities, and resource requirements to support current and future business objectives.
• Provides guidance and consultation on complex employee relation matters. Proactively addresses and resolves employee relations matters, conducting timely and objective investigations, coaching managers on appropriate corrective actions, identifying workplace trends and risks, and partnering with leadership and legal, as appropriate.
• Partner with the compensation team on salary recommendations, promotions, internal equity reviews, market competitiveness, job leveling, and employee positioning within established salary ranges provide managers with guidance on appropriate application of the organization's compensation philosophy, salary structures, incentive programs and compensations practices.
• Analyze workforce and HR data to identify trends related to turnover, compensation, retention, engagement, workforce demographics, and benefits utilization, and recommend appropriate actions to business and HR leadership.
• Partner with leaders to develop and execute talent strategies. Lead and facilitate talent reviews including succession planning discussions and leadership development initiatives.
• Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to implement HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date on HR trends and best practices and implement innovative solutions to improve HR processes.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on all HR matters.
• Supervision of an individual contributor.
• Participate in special projects/initiatives and provide HR support of other Divisions as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in a progressive HRBP role
• Proven experience partnering with business leaders to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives
• Strong understanding of HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations
• Working knowledge of compensation and benefits including knowledge of the ADA accommodation process from an HRBP perspective is a plus
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
• Strong customer service skills
• Experience supervising individual contributors.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience working in the Defense Contracting Industry highly preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
