Job summary

Kent Daniels & Associates in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our dynamic law firm client. This role partners with department managers and cross-functional HR teams to drive performance, talent development, and workforce planning.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in law firm or professional services HR, strong knowledge of CA and federal employment laws, and experience with HRIS (Workday preferred). The position is full-time with a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in HR/Business or related field.
• 7+ years of law firm or professional services HR experience.
• Advanced knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
• Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Drive annual HR processes including performance management cycles, annual reviews, and promotions.
• Lead talent assessment/development and career pathways for talent pipeline.
• Lead workforce planning addressing needs, skill gaps, and risks.
• Analyze HR metrics to assess effectiveness and suggest improvements.
• Support leadership development, management capability, and skills programs.
• Consult on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
• Support investigations to ensure fair and consistent outcomes.
• Coach managers on performance issues and employee concerns.
• Advise on performance management and corrective action efforts.
• Partner with managers to coach, give feedback, and conduct performance conversations.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits & Compensation, Payroll, and Recruiting to deliver integrated HR solutions.

Location:Downtown Los Angeles, CA(Hybrid 3 days onsite)

Pay:$140,000 to $160,000 annually

Experience:7+ years of law firm or professional services experience to serve as a consultant to Department Managers on human resources issues and support processes.

Education:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Position Requirements

1. Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
2. Must have advanced knowledge of California and federal employment laws.
3. Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations, assess risk, analyze facts, and make sound recommendations.
4. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred).
