Job summary

Westlake hires an HR Business Partner to collaborate with leaders and employees, supporting HR initiatives, processes, and employee relations within an assigned client group.

You will handle inquiries on policies and programs, maintain knowledge of HR systems (Workday), recruit and orient new hires, administer compensation and time off, and participate in investigations and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, HR, or related field.
• SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
• 3–7 years of progressive HR experience.
• 2+ years in a generalist or functional HR role with exposure to compensation, performance, training, and labor relations.

Responsibilities

• Answer inquiries related to policies, procedures, and programs.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of company HR systems, including Workday.
• Recruit, interview, test, and select salaried and hourly employees for the client group.
• Lead new employee orientation to support a positive business unit experience.
• Administer salary and hourly compensation programs to maintain compliance and internal equity.
• Administer vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and other employee-related reports requested by management.
• Prepare new hire and termination documentation and conduct exit interviews to identify termination reasons.
• Represent the organization and employees in hearings and investigations related to employee and organizational matters.
• Manage company-sponsored programs and events, including community outreach and service award banquets.
• Coordinate client group training with the client group and HR management.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as required.
