The Recruiting Hive seeks an HR Business Partner to lead HR at a Pittsburgh-area plant. This on-site role reports to HR leadership and collaborates with plant management, serving as the go-to HR resource for roughly 80 employees.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in manufacturing HR, comfort with union issues, and a track record of driving recruiting, onboarding, and policy compliance on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years in HR within manufacturing or warehousing
• Union environment experience preferred; strong candidates without it who show they can pick it up will be considered
• Able to handle sensitive employee matters independently and judge when escalation is warranted
• Local candidates only; relocation is not offered

Responsibilities

• Act as the single point of HR contact for a plant of roughly 80 employees
• Coach plant leaders through employee relations issues, performance conversations, and conflict
• Work alongside corporate HR on union grievances and labor relations
• Drive site-level recruiting, onboarding, and retention
• Keep the site in line with employment law and company policy
• Stay visible on the production floor so employees know who to come to
• Help roll out HR systems and process improvements
• Report site trends and concerns up to HR leadership

Compensation: $90,000 to $110,000 + bonus

Overview

A multi-site consumer goods manufacturer needs an on-site HR lead for one of its smaller plants in the Pittsburgh region. The parent organization runs several facilities across the country, and this person would be the go-to HR resource at this location, partnering with plant management and spending real time with hourly and salaried staff.

The company sees this as a stepping stone. The long‑term plan is for this role to grow into HR oversight across more than one site.

What the Job Involves
