Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking an on-site HR Business Partner for a plant in the Pittsburgh region. You will serve as the HR lead for ~80 employees, partnering with plant management and HR leadership on labor relations, recruiting, onboarding, and policy compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in HR within manufacturing, local residency, and comfort navigating union environments. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and HRIS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years in HR within manufacturing or warehousing.
• Union environment experience preferred; strong candidates without it who show they can pick it up will be considered.
• Able to handle sensitive employee matters independently and judge when escalation is warranted.
• Builds trust easily with everyone from the floor to the front office.
• HRIS experience a plus, especially helping with an implementation.
• Must be local; relocation is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Act as the single point of HR contact for a plant of roughly 80 employees
• Coach plant leaders through employee relations issues, performance conversations, and conflict
• Work alongside corporate HR on union grievances and labor relations
• Drive site-level recruiting, onboarding, and retention
• Keep the site in line with employment law and company policy
• Stay visible on the production floor so employees know who to come to
• Help roll out HR systems and process improvements
• Report site trends and concerns up to HR leadership

Overview

A multi-site consumer goods manufacturer needs an on-site HR lead for one of its smaller plants in the Pittsburgh region. The parent organization runs several facilities across the country, and this person would be the go-to HR resource at this location, partnering with plant management and spending real time with hourly and salaried staff.

The company sees this as a stepping stone. The long‑term plan is for this role to grow into HR oversight across more than one site.

What the Job Involves
