Recruitment Information

Recruitment Number: 22-0328. There are currently seven (7) vacancies in various locations on Oahu.

Salary: $3,900 to $4,933 per month (SR-13, Step C to I). Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Duties Summary

Independently performs substantive human resources clerical work that includes a significant proportion of those of a novel and/or unusually complicated nature which presents many possible alternative courses of action and requires use of considerable judgment; and/or performs limited technical assistance work; and performs other related duties as assigned. May also provide guidance or supervision to lower level general clerical or human resources clerical positions, with responsibility for training, developing and improving work procedures and materials, scheduling and monitoring work assignments, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • General Experience: One year of progressively responsible general office clerical experience.
  • Specialized Experience: Three years of experience in an office where the work required the knowledge and application of pertinent human resources rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.
  • Supervisory Aptitude: Some positions may require possession of supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is demonstrated through successful completion of regular or special assignments that involve supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, e.g., serving as a group or team leader; completing training courses in supervision; or through favorable appraisals indicating supervisory potential.
  • Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.
  • For Positions Located at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport: SIDA Clearance – Federal Criminal History Records Check. In accordance with Federal regulations, persons considered for employment in positions requiring unescorted access to secured areas must undergo a pre‑employment fingerprint‑based criminal history record check. Candidates must not have been convicted or found “not guilty by reason of insanity” of a disqualifying offense within ten years from the date of application. The cost for the records check is the applicant’s responsibility.
  • Driver’s License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
