Job summary

The U.S. Army Civilian Human Resources Agency is seeking a developmentally seasoned human resources support specialist to process a full range of personnel actions, manage records, and coordinate payroll documentation.

You will interact with NAF Financial Services and HR offices to ensure timely actions and compliant records. Applicants should have foundational HR experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity with HR systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Process a full range of recurring personnel actions including appointments, separations, promotions, and reassignments.
  • Generate reports for quality control and record-keeping.
  • Upload documents into eOPF to ensure complete, chronologically ordered employee records.
  • Generate, submit and confirm payroll documents and personnel actions with NAF Financial Services.
  • Respond to inquiries from HR Offices, NAF Financial Services and the NAF Employee Benefits Branch.

Job description

Duties
  • Processes a full range of recurring personnel actions that include a variety of appointments, separations, promotions, changes to lower grade, reassignments, transfers, or mass change actions, or any other actions.
  • Generates reports as necessary to perform quality control functions.
  • Uploads documents into electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) to ensure employee records are complete and in chronological order.
  • Generates, submits and confirms receipt of payroll documents and personnel actions with NAF Financial Services through an automated tool or manually.
  • Responds to inquiries received from the HR Offices, NAF Financial Services and the NAF Employee Benefits Branch.

Conditions of Employment
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must complete CHRA NAF Career Path I within 18 months of position placement

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
NF-02 (Developmental)

Possess six (6) months of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, which demonstrates the ability to accomplish various human resources tasks and utilize human resource information systems.

NF-03
  • Possess six (6) months of work experience inputting data into a personnel database.
  • Prior records management experience such as transmitting (filing, uploading, transfers) and maintenance of records.
  • Possess prior experience using Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work with a variety of human resources information systems.

Highly Preferred or Best Qualified

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered 'Highly Preferred' or 'Best Qualified':

  • NF2 - In addition to above minimum qualification requirements, applicants will possess prior work experience in Human Resources
  • NF3 - Applicants will possess prior work experience in a NAF Human Resources Office and possess prior work experience using a Data Entry System to code, review and generate notifications of personnel actions (i.e. DA Form 3434, AF Form 2545, SF-50, etc.)
