Descrizione del lavoro

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Education:

As a general rule, education is not creditable above GL-05 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

Experience:

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Reviewed draft and existing position descriptions for completeness and accuracy, identified discrepancies (missing responsibilities, series conflicts, inconsistent titles), and/or prepared draft classification packages, coding sheets, and/or justification summaries following established methods. Reviewed organizational charts, staffing patterns, and/or functional statements for consistency with approved structures; identified discrepancies such as incorrect reporting relationships or misaligned function codes and/or prepared updated charts and mapping documents using standard templates. Conducted structured reviews of position inventories to confirm proper coding of title, series, grade, sensitivity, and/or FLSA status; analyzed position data for anomalies (duplicate positions, obsolete descriptions) and resolved routine issues using established precedents. Coordinated multi-step classification actions across organizational components; monitored human resources inboxes and routing queues; and maintained electronic libraries of human resources guidance, position descriptions, and/or organizational charts to support audits and program continuity. Researched OPM standards, federal regulations, precedent determinations, and/or case files to gather factual support; compiled datasets, metrics, and structural inventories for desk audits and/or organizational studies; and documented discrepancies with clear notes for specialist use. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
