Join our Human Resources team in a dynamic part-time role where your organizational skills and attention to detail will make a real impact! As an essential administrative support partner, you'll manage key HR communications, assist employees, help streamline payroll coordination, and maintain vital personnel records. This position serves as a point of contact for the Human Resources division, creating a welcoming and professional environment for visitors, callers, and email inquiries. You’ll provide accurate information about HR services, support employees, and assist HR professionals with confidential and technical tasks. Key responsibilities include supporting daily HR operations, managing tuition waiver applications, tracking performance evaluations, managing seniority rosters and employee work schedules, and maintaining personnel files.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Customer Service: Provide high-level customer service as the first point of contact via phone, in person, or email, answering basic questions or referring inquiries to HR team members regarding benefits, vacancies, classification, payroll, leaves, and recruitment.
  2. HR Document Management: Coordinate filing of HR documents following standard procedures.
  3. HR Operations Support: Support HR staff with ongoing assignments/projects to ensure smooth HR office functioning.
Salary Range:

$22.00 - $30.98 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written), demonstrating tact, confidentiality, and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic math skills for calculations involving percentages and averages.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain complex records and logs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in office management, HR, or related field.
  • Previous HR experience.
  • Three years of administrative support experience.
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR management systems.
  • Understanding of the Minnesota Data Practices Act.
  • Experience handling sensitive information discreetly.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse backgrounds.
Additional Requirements:

  • Compliance with MnSCU Vehicle Fleet Safety Program and consent to Motor Vehicle Records check.
Work Schedule:

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Friday: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
