The human resources assistant provides administrative support for various Human Resources responsibilities, including, but not limited to, all changes to the HRIS systems. Responsible for onboarding, overseeing and processing all new hire documentation, processing performance evaluations, and badging. Confidentially handles employee records and ensures completion of FAA drug/alcohol packets. Provides HR related customer services.
Minimum Requirements and Qualification- Requires High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent personal computer skills.
- Proven ability to multitask in a busy office environment with numerous interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Excellent ability to communicate (written & oral) with internal and external customers.
- Self-motivated, ability to use independent judgment to suggest solutions and handle unusual situations in a professional manner.
- Ability to support sensitive information and processes confidentially.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficient at operating standard office equipment to copy & scan documents.
- Prefer someone with proficiency working with an HRIS system.
- Prefer someone with familiarity of FAA drug testing, Workers Compensation & FMLA.
Major Responsibility Areas and Duties- Confidentially supports various HR functions, such as employee recordkeeping, FAA Drug & Alcohol program, benefits, policy manuals, employee relations, technical support, etc.
- Responsible for changes to the HRIS systems, onboarding, overseeing and processing new hire documentation, license/education verification, E-Verify, DOT pre-employment drug screen packets and completion of 49 CFR’s from previous employers, performance evaluations, employee training, employment verifications, and uploading documents to Document Manager.
- Provides customer services by responding to routine inquiries about Human Resources functions, procedures and company policies.
- Responsible for processing all badge applications (SIDA & site), as well as maintaining proxy cards.
Additional Duties- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors necessary for the normal day-to-day operation, not determined at time of hire.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions- Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
- Ability to withstand exposure to constant or intermittent moderate noise levels.
- Must be able to read, write, and fluently speak English. Prefer bilingual in Spanish.
